Goverment investigations can find no reason for this phenoninum and can offer the residents no explination, fear and panic set in with the villagers as they wonder wether they are part of a goverament experiment or have they been impregnated by an extra terrestial force?
Peoples greed for money soon has them relaxed, as the goverment offer to pay the families large sums of money to go ahead with the pregnancies, on condition they can monitor the children. The children are born with Platinum hair and physic abilities, not only can they read each others thoughts but everyone else's,
As soon as the children reach school age the fun starts, and it becomes clear these children are here for a purpose, A local Doctor "Christopher Reeve", and his school teacher wife frightingly discover the chilling truth, The children are the offspring of an alien race, who are set on World domination of our planet.
It's then a race against time, can the armed forces and local police destroy these children before they destroy us? or will the children see right through their plans. It's a battle of minds and is the good Doctor's mind strong enough to hold out? an explosive finalie ensues.
starring alongside Christopher Reeve are Linda Kozlowski, Kirstie Alley and Michael Pare.
Some quite chilling parts, with a few frights and jumps along the way, but to be hoest i still prefer the original and dont believe this John Carpenter remake doesn,t do it justice.

Advantages: story, stellar peformance Disadvantages: see review
of the 1960's. This film was based on the eerie novel, The Midwich Cucukoos by John Wyndham. In the film, George Sanders was excellent as the man who is the lone hero against the emotionless children who hold the village in fear.
The script keeps the viewer guessing what happens next and the perfomances were excellent thanks to a great cast. But it's young Martin Stephens as David Zallaby who gives a scare factor with a chilling performance. Village of The Damned had a sequel, Children of The Damned. The 1995 version was made by John Carpenter.
I recommend both 1960 and 1995 versions of Children Of The Damned on video and DVD. ...
