DVD Description
In this Hammer production set during the Roman occupation of England, Salina, a faithful Briton, assumes reign over her father's kingdom hoping to carry on his wishes to maintain a peaceful kingdom. When the Romans become tyrannical she leads her tribe in a sweeping attack against them. Though a costume epic, this 1966 film features plenty of Hammer touches including creative torture methods, chariots with blade covered wheels, and beautiful Irish locales.
Advantages: Easy plot to follow, interesting in parts, good atmosphere captured Disadvantages: Main character does quite fit the part
...the monsters looked like men dressed in wolves' pelts, they seemed to have super-human strength. The battles are quite bloody in the film and heads roll, literally. But are these monsters really monsters, or are they men dressed as wolves?
From this point, there are many battles with the beasts all very bloody, but something I found disappointing was the fact that the main battle was fought at night and I found it difficult to work out who was fighting who.

So is that the end...

Advantages: Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis Disadvantages: none
...The Vikings, is a superb film, based on the brutal realities of being a Viking in 9th century,
As fantastic seamen and ship builders, the Vikings were able Rob, Pillage and Plunder nearby lands.

There was a cover up and Prince Eric grew to become an English Prince, Schooling In Italy, or so it is thought.
Lord Egbert, an English nobleman is suspected of treason, as he had never succumbed to a Viking raid, Egbert escapes and joins the Vikings assisting them with his knowledge of England.

Advantages: Great story, very well made, absorbing plot. Disadvantages: A couple of places where pace of movie slows a little.
...in the village happens to know an extraordinary amount about Grendel.
"A LITERARY MONSTER MOVIE"
Marilyn Smulders - The Halifax Daily News
The story is very deep and often sad in parts. Grendel even keeps the skull of his dead father in like a shrine, in his cavern. Many times you see in the film that Grendel is full of emotion and can feel tremendous emotional pain. It is very easy to empathise what he must be going through and to hate the vikings. The film is very well made with great acting, and action scenes to equal the best action movies out there. Clothing and scenery are totally authentic. this is a very good film, that has obviously been well thought out. The DVD comes with a few deleted scnes and after viewing them, I agree they were better left out of the movie. The film also comes with a fancy cardboard outer, with a picture...
