Production Year: 2003 - Action/Adventure - Original Language: English - Classification: 12 years and over - Starring:Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, Sam Jones III, Allison Mack, Eric Johnson, Annette O'Toole, John Glover, John Schneider
Advantages: Occassional moments of professional film making Disadvantages: lazy & tired... a real stinker in the Bond canon
...believable in the role of a suave, sophisticated and sexy secret agent.
The supporting cast is of no help whatsoever. Grace Jones is just plain unattractive and all the snarling and high heels in the world won't make her a classic foe in the mould of Red Grant. Her senior cohort, Max Zorin - even the names were bad by now - is played with an annoying collection of twitches and hisses by Christopher Walken, who appears far too young and lightweight ... ...Sir Godfrey Tibbet, played with a delightfully light touch by Patrick Macnee, who could still cut it as Steed whilst Moore looks out of his depth as Bond...ironic.
The story is hokum of the first order and is a collection of tired set pieces, lame gags, and recycled ideas. Glen is out of sorts in his third outing as director, in fact the whole production crew seems to be on some sort of leave of senses. Peter Lamont comes out best with his sets, ...

Advantages: Walken and Jones Disadvantages: The franchise looks old and dated
...of an era. Was it a happy era or a sad era? Who knows - I'll leave that to a review of Roger Moore as James Bond. But does Mr Moore end on a high note?
After retrieving a highly advanced silicon chip (capable of surviving a magnetic pulse given out by a nuclear bomb) British Intelligence sends their top man to investigate the alarming lack of security at the manufacturer - Zorin Industries. Using an interest in horse racing as a cover Bond infiltrates ... ...big time but unfortuneately he's a several years late - very much like Roger Moore himself. The obvious thing to say is that Roger looks too old to play the part and indeed well...he is. Seeing the almost pensionable Moore grappling with hired hoods, being intimate with the delectible Tanya Roberts, and charging around like a 20 year old is pretty bad but does it spoil the film? Well not totally. He does bring a lot to the role - a touch of humour, ...

Advantages: Nice locations, good action scenes and a super villain Disadvantages: Moore a little tired and the plot isn't the best in the series
A View To A Kill marked the end of the 12-year Roger Moore era of Bond. At 58 years of age when the film was released back in 1985, Moore is the oldest actor to have been cast as the super-agent to date. To many, Octopussy should have been his last, but whilst A View To A Kill has frailties both in parts of the plot and the acting, it is among the more enjoyable films.
Partially named after the Ian Fleming short story 'From A View To A Kill', this ... ...who just happens to be a hyper-intellegent geologist. As she is a descendant of the Sutton Oil Company, it turns out Zorin has been trying to force her to sell her remaining shares in the company, but as she refuses, she becomes a marked woman.
A View To A Kill starts positively - the opening sequence involves a hectic ski-chase where Bond has been sent to acquire a microchip, found on the body of yet another dead double 0 agent. This is fairly ...

Advantages: Great last Bond film for Roger Disadvantages: Not rated as Roger Moore's best Bond
As A View to a kill was the first Bond film I ever saw in the cinema and I have very good memories of it, I thought I should review this one.
This was made in 1985 and was Roger Moores last outing as James Bond, he did not really want to do this one as he thought that he was too old at this stage to play the part. The storyline was actually set up for the new Bond Timothy Dalton but there was a last minute hitch and the film Dalton was currently ... ...the role.
This had a very good cast setting With Roger in the title role, Christopher Walken playing the main villain Max Zorin, Grace Jones as his sidekick Mayday, Tanya Roberts playing Bonds love interest Stacey Sutton, and the Bond regulars Desmond Llewelyn as Q, and Lois Maxwell as miss moneypenny
This was filmed in Pinewood studios in London, and had settings in Paris and San Francisco. When filming in Paris it took a very long time to get ...

...Jones' catwalk villainess cuts a finer figure than the usual Bond heavy. It's a pity she turns out good in the end. But, like Walken, she puts in an exuberant performance. This is the best Bond film that Moore did by far even if he was past his best. ...

Advantages: Great fast paced action Disadvantages: Moore too old, too much killing
...and Connery were critical of this. Moore disliked the genocidal nature of Zorin's machine gun killings, saying that it just wasn't like a Bond film, and critics have also been harsh with this film. However, I enjoyed it immensely, with the fast paced nature perhaps being more to my liking.
Conclusion
Moore is perhaps too old, but the action is good.

Advantages: Excellent feature packed DVD Disadvantages: A disturbing revelation in the special features to hideous to think about
...You are fully aware you're nearly the whole way through the year when the James Bond DVDS suddenly come to full exposure in the shops. Normally just before Christmas arrives the James Bond DVD's appear in the shops, Buy one get one free. Not this year however; this year for your £12.99 you'll be getting one, if you're lucky.
With the impending release of the proper version of Casino Royale (not the 60's comedy starring David Niven) the James Bond DVDS have had further restoration than they have before.
A View To A Kill
Roger Moore's last outing as secret agent James Bond begins in the usual off the wall style. Bond is being pusued across the snow by "unknown assailants" to the jolly tune of the Beach Boys "California Girls" before heading for a submarine discussed as an iceberg.
From here Bond is sent to Paris for a meeting...

Advantages: Funny, Gore Disadvantages: Not everyone likes horror
...was in Gangs Of New York. Katherine Winnick gets some superbly corny one-liners, which she delivers with admirable credibility. Alexander Brickel steals the show though, as the naïve boy "in league" with Satan. Most people will remember Amanda Plummer from Pulp Fiction or Needful Things.
The film was written and directed by Jeff Lieberman, famed for electrocuting worms in Squirm.
NOT FOR CHILDREN
Satan's Little Helper is an 18 certificate. The film contains violence, blood & guts and cruelty to animals. It's not real, it's fictional. However if you don't like this sort of film, please don't watch it. The film also contains nudity and scenes of a sexual nature. Personally, I don't have a problem with any of this. In fact, I'd take a dim view of any film passing itself off as horror where no one was killed or threatened with death.

James Bond (Roger Moore) must foil the plot of a diabolical scientist trying to control the world computer market by destroying California's Silicon Valley. Christopher Walken is entertaining to watch as the evil madman; the film also features the trademark Bond bevy of beauties, including Tanya Roberts and Grace Jones. A VIEW TO A KILL features a title song by Duran Duran and marks the last time Moore would play Bond.
