Donna lands herself a job on one of the least classy airlines you are ever likely to see, and this is where she meets Sherry (Kelly Preston) who takes her under her wing to teach her the ropes, and as Donna has never been on a plane before you wouldn't expect it to be easy. Fortunately, they show this all in sped up time so it doesn't take her long to be the example of perfection, although unfortunately for us it means she will be moving up from the slutty outfits her current airline has her wear. Donna also gets her own apprentice in Christine (Christina Applegate) and the three become good friends. This couldn't be a romantic comedy without the roamance though, and Donna finds that in Ted (Mark Ruffalo) who is a wannabe law student scared of following his dream. With Donna following her dream of hitting the skies, it doesn't appear that this romance will last longer than one date.
The film is all about ambitions for more though, and that is why the three girls decide to apply for bigger and better things at a new airline. Rather surprisingly Sherry doesn't make it through to the new airline, which brings her time in the movie to a rather abrupt end, meaning it is now just Donna and Christine aganist the world. Donna's dream was inspired by a celebrity she saw on television named Sally Weston (Candice Bergen) and as Donna improves and improves, she sort of works as a mentor for Donna. This is all a little unbelieveable really, but this is a feel good movie with a lot of glitz surrounding being an airhostess so what can I say. It's probably a chick flick but I enjoyed it!
Performance wise I'm not a huge follower of any actor or actress in particular, but I would say all the performances were good for what they were. I knew I recognised the actress playing Christine from someone, and she actually played Rachel Green's spoilt sister in an episode of Friends. That is why it comes as no surprise that she plays the bitchy one out of the girls, and is obviously an actress that is very good at that particular role. The film is all about seeing if she can make it to that jetset lifestyle that will have her waiting on first class business trips from New York to Paris, but can she get over that nagging feeling that she is missing somethnig - or someone? I actually really liked this movie, although I would have liked to have seen more of the process of her moving up in the world because at the end of it all it seemed a bit easy. You definitly have to give a shout out to Mike Myers for starring in this movie as well as the trainer of Donna's, as he does generate laughs for the film. Not something I would go out to buy but a pleasure to watch on a Sunday night.

A View From The Top tells the story of a small town girl with big city dreams: Donna discovers the glamorous world of flight attending and immediately realises it's the thing that was missing from her life. She leaves behind her home town and her currently unsuccessful life and lands herself a job at an airline, though things are not exactly how she imagined they would be. Through hard work, a bit of luck and a lot of guts she works her way up and ... ...'A Journey Inside A View From The Top' is a typical behind the scenes documentary that includes cast and crew interviews, outtakes, some deleted scenes and a general look at filming. It was interesting to see the set aeroplanes as they have only one wall to allow for filming, but this is something that, though expected, you would never guess from seeing the film where it looks like an authentic, fully formed plane. I found this movie to be boring. I am easily amused, but this movie just wasn't funny. I sat and watched it but found it to be a waste of time and money. It does have its moments but all in all, it's not worth watching, there are many other movies better than this one that you are better off watching and will enjoy more. ...

Advantages: A great film with excellent special effects and good extra features. Disadvantages: none, its that good.
Ronin is the sort of film anyone (well over the age of 15) can enjoy. At its core it is a gritty thriller with plenty of excellent special effects and class act performances. The plot centres around a group of missionaries brought together in hope of stealing a top secret breifcase from unknown assailants by a mysterious client. The film is based mainly on acion with the best car chase scenes i've ever looking fantastic with the pin point sharpness of DVD and the incredibly sharp dolby digital surround sound setting you up for an excillerating viewing experiance. With great performances fromtop actors like Robert De Niro and Jean Reno this is a classic film from the thriller selection. The DVD also features a host of interesting special features including, an alternate ending showing you another idea that the Director/script writer had ...

DVD Description
This breezy comedy from director Bruno Barreto (FOUR DAYS IN SEPTEMBER) stars Gwyneth Paltrow as Donna, a young woman who dreams of escape from her rural Nevada home town. Her life changes when she sees Sally Weston (Candice Bergen) on TV talking about her book, "My Life in the Sky," and her fabulous career traveling the world as a flight attendant. Soon, the plucky Donna has a job at a small Nevada airline that caters to gamblers and drunks and, along with fellow trainees Sherry (Kelly Preston) and Christine (Christina Applegate), dreams of working the international routes on a large airline. That opportunity arises when Royalty Airlines holds a job fair where the girls are drilled by Mike Myers' hilarious former airline attendant, John Whitney. Soon, Donna and Christine find themselves in training at Royalty's home base with the manic Whitney where the ambitious Donna makes it clear that she's headed for the international routes by acing all of Whitney's tests. However, Donna finds that success doesn't come without its pitfalls when she ends up stationed in Cleveland where she strikes up a romance while still dreaming about jetting around Europe as a first class flight attendant.
