Victor Wooten - Live At Bass Day DVD

Advantages: Great Rom Com. Great characters.
Disadvantages: It's quite cheesy.

...In this movie, the lead role, Kat Ellis, is played by Debra Messing, who has also played Grace in Will and Grace on channel 4 and Living Tv. The charming escort Nick Mercer is played by Dermot Mulroney, who has appeared in a few episodes of friends, the movie About Schmidt and My best friends wedding. I think these actors create great chemistry between the two characters in this movie. Movie plot: Kat Ellis is a single woman, who has had her exboyfriend lead her on for years and out of the blue dump her, for no apparent reason. Now, she has to attend her sisters wedding, with her ex as the best man, so not wanting to go on her own and look like she can't do any better, she hires a male escort to act as her boyfriend for the wedding. As the day gets closer she gets more and more nervous and wonders what her escort will look like... Read review

Advantages: hilarious, Atkinson is a comedy genius
Disadvantages: only 3 episodes, expensive way to get the whole set

...Having only made 13 episodes you would think it would be easy enough to release the wholebox set as a complete and more cost effective production. But no, because we are english, we are 'rich' and can afford to splash out on the indivual DVD's, and of course we can wait whilst each is brought out at two month intervals. However if you live in america you get one whole box set, straight away, and before we even get our measly volume one with only 3 episodes on it. Arrgh. Appologies for the rant, but it's a good introduction as to why I have had to review one volume at a time. I do hope you enjoy reading about it. As I'm sure the name Mr Bean will ring bells striaght away. He's the clumsy whimsical character which delighted so many with his mishaps in the 90's. Advantages: Paul Weller live DVD
Disadvantages: Can't be seen full screen on normal TV

...I've followed Paul Weller now since he started with the Jam in 1977, through his days with the Style Council, and now throughout his 'solo' career. I've seen him live 6 times, and for those of you not fortunate enough to have seen him live, a live DVD like this one is the next best thing. Paul Weller has inspired the 1990's bands such as Oasis and Blur, and got the title 'The Modfather'. He regularly plays on 'Later with Jools Holland', and in February 2006 he will be collecting a lifetime achievement award at the Brit Awards. I've had a great interest in Victorian history all of my life, and to see on DVD my musical hero playing at one of the most historic venues in the UK was awe=inspiring - I travelled down to London the next time Paul played the Albert Hall just to see the concert.
