Advantages: Stunning cinematography, excellent acting, brilliantly directed Disadvantages: Some may see it to be just another generic teen slasher
...When I first heard about the film 'All The Boys Love Mandy Lane' I was actually greatly excited. Having then seen trailer on TV for the film the other week I decided that I just had to go and see the film for myself as soon as possible. It came out on February 15th and therefore I was there waiting at the door, greatly enthusiastic about the prospect of seeing this film I had been longing to watch. The film comes from the director Jonathan Levine, I had not seen any of his films before but he has previously directed 'Love Bytes' and 'Shards'. In directing 'All The Boys Love Mandy Lane', Levine has entered in to new territory as horror is a genre that he had not covered before, and given that he had no directorial background in the genre I feel that he has done incredibly well here. The film is described by Total Film as 'THE OC meets...

Advantages: One of the best Pertwee stories made Disadvantages: Not many on this DVD
...Inferno
I am reviewing the two disk DVD set of the Jon Pertwee Doctor Who story "Inferno"
As I was too young to remember Jon Pertwee as the doctor I managed to watch all of his stories from UK Gold at around 1993. There were some stories that stuck out in my mind that I thought were very good. Inferno was one of them.

I shall now run through the two disks.
Disk 1 :
Inferno
Plot - The Doctor and UNIT are involved in a top secret project "Inferno" which is a secret drilling operation to the Earth's crust to release a new source of energy. Things start...

Advantages: Spitting Image, lots of laughs, great intro to classical music Disadvantages: Deflates a little in the middle, wanted more
...Introduction:

Somehow it seemed a rather improbable line-up: On one side as a supreme representative of "high culture", we have Claudio with his intense music-making and lofty interpretative ideas, conducting acclaimed recordings and concerts of Mahler, Mozart and Verdi to pick just a few highlighted composers from his long and illustrious career. At the other end of the cultural spectrum we have the Spitting Image team who are best known for their 80's TV series featuring bitingly satirical latex puppet portrayals of anyone famous (and infamous) from the Queen Mum...
