MoscowThis is the first album from the current and longest lasting line up in Heep's storied history. It is also one of the most important live recordings in Rock history for the concerts that this album is taken from were the first ever concerts by a Western rock band in the old Soviet Union. Over ten nights, Heep played to 180,000 Russians! (for more details, read the reissue liner notes). I remember when I first found this on cassette and listened in the car for the first time. It blew me away how well Bernie could handle David Byron's old songs. After listening to this and Spellbinder, I'm convinced that Bernie performs the Byron-era songs better than any other Heep vocalist since David. Review of Live In Moscow [Remastered] - Uriah Heep

Heep hit the ground running...

Advantages: Ten tracks of classic hard rock from 1982
Disadvantages: If you don't like rock you won't like these

Named after a character in Dickens's 'David Copperfield' Uriah Heep released their first album 'Very 'Eavy...Very 'Umble' in 1969 and displayed a very organ and guitar enfused form of rock with even acoustic and jazz elements thrown into the mix for good measure. There fourteenth album 'Abominog', released in 1982, was the follow-up to their previous showpiece 'Conquest' and only contained one surviving member of the band that recorded it. In fact, Mick Box (guitarist) even considered just ditching the Uriah Heep motive and starting afresh with a new group. However, he didn't, and 'Abominog' was a fairly successful album featuring a change of sound for the band. Living In Oblivion review

Advantages: Well acted, keeps you engaged throughout

Living In Oblivion is a low budget independent film written and directed by Tom DiCillo and starring Steve Buscemi and Dermot Mulroney. Sure, these aren't A-list stars, but that lends itself to the story. If it was a film about the making of a film and you had George Clooney and Brad Pitt pretending to be small time actors you wouldn't believe it. That's why it was better to use less well known actors, it pulls you more into the story. The film takes place during one day on set of a low budget movie, and documents all the problems that the director, Nick (Buscemi), and everyone else can encounter, from equipment malfunctioning to office politics to actors forgetting their lines. It's almost like a documentary, it is very realistic and gives you the complete story as to what it's like trying to get a film made. There are a few ...
