Advantages: Great Plot, Great performances Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...starring Robert Redford) and Casablanca, Up Close & Personal is one of those romantic films that show you that love is still really possible in this day and age…
The two main stars show us how talented they are in this film from the early nineties. Set over a space of time, of about 10 years, in the world of television, the main characters’ relationship seems to develop slowly but surely.
There are really only two actors who are associated ... ...the director set out for Up Close & Personal to be like Casablanca and The Way We Were. I think she set out for Tally and Warren to have trouble-free relationships.
But, in the Way We Were and Casablanca, love isn’t so easy. Nor is it in Up Close & Personal, but it’s more. It’s more than the other tow’s relationship, and thankfully it hasn’t got the same sort of ending.
The tow actors certainly played their parts well ...

Advantages: The film looks good Disadvantages: Its all a bit hit and miss
...with watching the film. The failure of it seems to lie in the hands of director Ron Howard, who is clumsy in his direction despite being a veteran of this type of mid-paced drama, and the casting couch he seemed to get it so right in some places and so wrong in others. Perhaps though, the biggest problem with the film is that the story, despite all its hype and bravado, wasn't really written that well and has an ordinary, if not weak, premise that has been handled better by better writers.
The DVD is available on 1 disc and 2 disc editions. The 2 disc edition has various special featurettes, of which the best are "A Portrait of Robert Langdon" which shows what the character could have been in the right hands, and a documentary about Mona Lisa upclose and personal. The rest are short and a bit hit and miss. But the DVD package is well put...

Advantages: It's all Shania - sound and pics Disadvantages: Film of all the crowds
..., as though they knew them better than Shania herself.!
I wanted this to be an upclose and personal video, with Shania just singing her songs for me and my enjoyment!!!!???
So these serious negatives reduce my score for this Shania DVD - I can only possibly rate it at 99.999 % and that is an objective review of course....

Advantages: Great continuation, brilliant battle scene, amazing special effects Disadvantages: none
...the armies of Orcs
Bigatures: a close-up look at the miniatures

Post-Production: editing it all together
Sound design demonstration

Overall:
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first but then I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first! for those who have read and loved the books be prepared again for some deviations int he plot, however, watch the documentary explaining the reasons and all starts to become a bit clearer!
Make sure you have watched the first film before this one and definitly worth watching as part of the whole trilogy experience!...
