Because, whilst World Wrestling Entertainment may be happy with their slow, uneventful matches, their childish storylines that insult our intelligence, and their insistence on promoting big built wrestlers with little to no ability, TNA has been doing things a little different. In June 2005, they signed independent wrestler Samoa Joe to a contract. Whilst many independent wrestling fans were excited about this, he was still unknown to the majority of wrestling fans. However, that soon changed, and after having amazing match afeter amazing match Samoa Joe is the talk of the wrestling world, with WWE even creating a character seemingly based on him (The Samoan Bulldozer). This DVD contains his best rated matches from his debut against Sonjay Dutt, right up until the start of 2006. After every match, Samoa Joe himself gives a few words about it, what he thought going into it, and his general opinion. It makes a great addition to the already great matches. If I were to criticise this DVD though, it would be to the small selection of bonus features. There is a slideshow of photos, a music video and some deleted scenes from his interviews, and that's it. I was hoping for more of a backstory on his time before TNA, and maybe some exclusive matches. However, the matches on this DVD are worth the price alone, so I definitely suggest checking it out.
