This is a truley brilliant western showing the world a bit more in the manner of the way it is than the typical holywood film which is just pie in the sky. the characters seem like real people with real weaknesses striving for what they think is important. The film is a coarse griity one with few light moments and is not lightwieght viewing. the actors are all excellent but eastwood and hackman really shine out in their respective roles. Clint has excelled him self with the direction of this film and to put in such a quality performance in front of the camera as well is truly remarkable.
