Unforgiven is a great film, which Eastwood intentionally left until he was old enough to play the part. Production Year: 1971 - Westerns - Director: Richard Benedict, Douglas Heyes, Leslie Martinson - Original Language: English - Classification: Parental Guidance - Starring: Ben Murphy, Pete Duel
Advantages: Gripping Disadvantages: As depressing as hell

However, in my opinion the extra footage and stuff they stick on to these special editions rarely add anything extra to your enjoyment. If you already have "Unforgiven" on DVD I wouldnt buy the special edition. But, if you just want to watch the film and havent got it yet, then go for it!
Unlike Eastwood's early westerns: ... ...You get to care about all the characters so you get quite upset when they start dropping like flies. There arent exactly goodies and baddies either, as in Eastwood's other westerns. If you like westerns, then no, this probably isnt for you. If you're a fan of Eastwood himself then this is definitely a must watch. He's directing it too, so check out the shots, some of them are really spectacular.

Advantages: The best western ever Disadvantages: Alittle slow in places
Without doubt I can say this is the best western I have ever seen, Not only does it paint what I would think is a accurate portrail of life in the west but it is also done in beautiful and sometimes thought provoking way. Clint eastwood not only stars but directs and what a job he does in both roles. He paints a picture of a aging gunslinger who needs money to bring up his two kids. Wondering if he has what it takes at his age and without the help ...

...conclusion the closing sequence in Unforgiven uses every possible outlet to communicate to the audience the true characterization of William Munney, this scene acts as a pay off to the way Munney has been built up throughout the film. It turns out possibly to the audiences surprise that he is actually capable of the rumors that follow him. So through significant elements it is successfully communicated to the audience that William Munney is in fact ...
