Ah, Underworld. What a movie. It finally taught us the answer to the ultimate question:
Who would win out of Dracula and the wolfman? Well, as far as underworld was concerned, the vampires would win with their hands tied behind their back, blindfolded and having been bled half to death.

Advantages: Both films in one Disadvantages: None as far as i am concerned
...Well, as far as underworld was concerned, the vampires would win with their hands tied behind their back, blindfolded and having been bled half to death.
Underworld shows the ultimate battle between the Vampires and the Lycan; Werewolves who can choose to turn into their wolf forms at will. The battle has been fought for centuries, the Vampires residing in an old mansion house, the Lycans choosing to stay in the sewers and underground. ... ...be.
The Underworld DVD features :
Disk 1 :
Dircetor and writers commentary : The director and writers talk you through the film as you watch it.
Technical Commentary : You are talked through the entire movie with a commentary about the technical side of the movie, i think it is done by the stunt and effects directors.

Underworld revolves around the vampire Selene trying to stop the lycans engineering a warrior that has the genetic code of both Vampires and Lycans. The strengths of both and the weaknesses of neither. It has an excellent plot, with many twists that have you on the edge of your seat. The fight scenes are beautifully executed, it's clear how many hours went into making them as perfect as they could be.

Sights and sounds : A lot of clips, just a compliation of things that were filmed for no apparent reason :)
Storyboard comparison : Extracts of the movie are played, and you can see the story boards for that part of the movie above it. It is a good insight to how those scenes were originally going to be made.
Music video : Finch - Worms of the earth, a metal track which shows the band playing and has extracts from the movie.
Tv Spots : The adverts that were played on Tv. They're pretty cool :)
Underworld Evolution Continues from the point Underworld left off. It focuses around Selene and Michael, fighting to survive. As in Underworld, the fight scenes are excellent, with the moved being perfectly executed at the right time to give you the feel of the hatred between the two sides. The acting also is as good, if not better than in the original, and the same can be said about the CGI

Music and mayhem : In the documentary it just takes you through how all the music affects the movies and there are interviews with the sound creators. Also it takes you through how they came up with the Lychan roar, and how important it was to them.
Music video 'Her portrait in black' : The music video, done by Atreyu was a metal track. Screams and heavy guitar riffs all the way. The video was put togehter well with the music
The actors were well chosen to suit the roles they were playing, they had almost everything right for the mood of the scene. Combined with the CGI effects it has to be the best boxed set of movies I have ever seen. At some points i couldn't believe what the CGI guys had come up with watching it, it looked like it was so real. You could see every hair on the Lycans body ripple and move as it moved, in perfect Synchronization.
Overall both the films have a good story line to them, backed up by excellent acting and brilliant CGI.

Review of Underworld / Underworld: Evolution (Box Set) (DVD)
Two features. In UNDERWORLD, a dark and Gothic monster action movie, vampires and lycans (an ancient form of werewolf) are at war. While the vampires inhabit a gigantic castle that houses their ancestors' tombs, the lycans live underground in a dilapidated sewer cave. Both teams are equipped with big guns and are constantly innovating deadlier bullets to gain advantage over each other. On the vampire side, the leather-clad death agent Selene (Kate Beckinsale), delegates teams of vampires to attack the lycans, but when she discovers that the lycans have kidnapped a human medical student, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman), she knows the worst is on its way. Against the orders of her superior, Kraven (Shane Brolly), who is obsessively in love with Selene, she awakens the most powerful vampire of all time, Viktor (Bill Nighy), and prepares for a massive feud against lycan leader, Lucian (Michael Sheen). Director Len Wiseman offers a tough, fast and gory addition to the horror-fantasy genre with UNDERWORLD. Impressive special effects show the lycans transforming from humans to werewolves, and their ability to squeeze silver bullets out of their skin is also rudely fascinating. Beckinsale is captivating in the role of the lead vamp, with her leather corset, red lips and double-fisted pistols perfectly communicating the glam-action mood of the film. Also included in the box set is the sequel to UNDERWORLD, UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION.
