UFC throw down was held in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.
2 belts are on the line, the first a middleweight bout with Dave Menne (champion) vs Brazilian Jiu Jitsu legend Murilo Bustamante. Not a great fight but entertaining enough.
Russian Andrei Semenov takes on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu stand out Ricardo Almeida, this fight is a good encounter.

Advantages: It's fighting Disadvantages: You like it or you don't
...UltimateFightingChampionship for those that don't know is real fighting in a cage. All the skills from all martial arts are used, wrestling, boxing, kicking, throws and submissions. 3, 5 minute rounds with 5, 5 minute rounds for title fights. And 5 weight divisions.
UFC 58: USA vs Canada wasn't the greatest UFC event but there's still plenty on which to recommend this DVD. A truly great scrap between Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher.
A controversial decision, a major upset and a fascinating main event make up for the odd disapointment.
Also, while the crowd may not have appreciated the Marquardt vs Doerksen fight, there's some fine technique on show.
The only extras are a pair of features on the St. Pierre vs Penn and Franklin vs Loiseau fights but both are excellent. Totalling 24 minutes they feature training footage, weigh-ins, warm...

...UltimateFightingChampionship (UFC) use the slogan 'As Real As It Gets' and this DVD showcases why they chose that as their tag line - this is Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) action personified!
Over the years UFC has changed a little bit and they do have some rules now - believe it or not! However, back in the beginning there were no rules - at UFC 4 (16th Dec 1994) you'll see Keith Hackney repeatedly punch Joe Son in the groin, but I digress - that's another story for another time!
This DVD release features 23 of the most devastating knockouts in UFC history. These guys will use anything to knock their opponent out - punches, kicks and even elbows - this is not for the faint of heart but IS for those like their fighting brutal and barbaric.
One of the least attractive parts of MMA has always been the amount of time some fighters spend...
