Introduction
I'm often homealone at night while my mum is working and it can get very, very, very boring because I have no friends who live near me. There are lots of things I can do to keep myself entertained. I can't choose my top 5 so here are my top 7 things I do when homealone at night:
7. Watch the TV
There's not much I like on the TV at night but I love watching friends. It's on every night! I also like The War at Home, which is on just before Friends. Sometimes all that is on is boring doccumentaries or reality TV shows (which I don't like (except Big Brother - I think it's quite good)).
6. Watch a DVD or Video
If there's nothing good on the telly then I'll watch one of my many DVDs. I have lots and lots of DVDs (most of them boring chick flicks that belong to my mum). I also have lots of videos. I have a whole ...
Advantages: Great family fun Disadvantages: No plot depth, but none needed
My little boy has been making these funny noises at me for some time. Today, I finally asked him what it was he was doing, and why it sent him into hysterical fits of laughter. 'It's the chipmunks, daddy!' he said. It turns out he had seen a trailer for 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' on TV, and can't stop laughing every time he thinks of it. So, off we went this afternoon to watch the film version of what was one of my favourite cartoons as a child.
The History
In 1958, Ross Bagdasarian Jr, for some reason decided he wanted to create a trio of talking, singing chipmunks. I have no doubt that there would have been those around him scoffing at the suggestion, but he persevered and created three of the most lovable characters I can remember from my childhood. Made into a cartoon, the tale is of a regular guy named Dave who is as a 'father ...
Advantages: entertaining, funny, good length, reflects of childhood, strong story and characters Disadvantages: none!

The magic of Ian's home soon died down when the three chipmunks started to feel incredibly homesick, and Dave was missing his boys dearly. Unfortunately, Alvin and the chipmunks thought Dave did not care, as they were under the influence of the so-called wonderful Uncle Ian.
Ian worked the Chipmunks incredibly hard, and did manage to release a few successful tracks, providing the guys with a life of luxury for a short time, complete with the press and parties. Though, he made a decision to do a world tour for 6-12 moths, and started to work the chipmunks so hard it was unreal. Their voices became strained, and they became exhausted.
Without a say in the matter, the three chipmunks were forced to go on with the opening night of the show in their home town ...
