Advantages: The funniest show since Scrubs Disadvantages: The episodes only last 20 minutes!
...for scenes of pure madness, but ring true constantly to real life. The cameos too - oh, the cameos! Henry Winkler, Liza Minelli, Carl Weathers… Henry Winkler may have aged a little bit, but he's become a gifted comic actor (maybe he's making up for all the time he wasted on Happy Days?) and every time his character appears, you know you're going to be laughing. I've started describing again, but it's hard to stay on track! It's such a unique show and so much happens that it's very tricky to focus on anything. The music, for example, is mostly a ukulele. A ukulele wouldn't seem to be the obvious choice for a sitcom, but somehow it fits in with the style of the show.
On DVD you get many extras, including deleted scenes and an intro from Ron Howard (my, he looks OLD). There's also a complete soundtrack, including one of my favourite songs, "All you...

...Larry Clark's 'kids' took the bold step of breaking some of the most painful taboos left, concerning children, to make an uncomfortable yet honest film about kids today.
The film is set in New York and follows two simultaneous storylines; Chloe Sevigny as a girl coping with discovering she has HIV, and the kid who she caught it from. They don't cut any corners in dealing with under-age sex, rape and drugs. In America it was branded child-pornography and nearly banned, but it's certainly never gratuitous.
It's a shame that 'kids' is only available to adults because, no matter how hip it may be, it is a morals tale, teaching lessons about unprotected sex. If I did have a criticism of 'kids' it would be that it only shows victims and seems to confirm parents' fears of what they're kids get up to....

Advantages: Classic kids tv, episodes not too long, it's the Mr Men! Whats not to like?? Disadvantages: Only 13 episodes on a DVD means its not that long
...Well as a 21 year old I really shouldn't be buying Mr Men DVD's but alas, I am. I used to love the series as a kid so was extremely chuffed when I saw it was out on DVD!
I bought the DVD off Amazon for 9.99, it was also available as old/used which was slightly cheaper.
The DVD contains 13 episodes, each a story centering around one character. It's the complete first series and the episodes featured are Mr Happy, Mr Silly, Mr Jelly, Mr Snow, Mr Bounce, Mr Forgetful, Mr Funny, Mr Bump, Mr Tickle, Mr Small (my personal favourite!), Mr Messy, Mr Greedy and Mr Sneeze.
For nostalgia seeking folks like me:
>All your old faves like Mr Happy, Mr Small etc all together once more!
>Have a right laugh at the narration from Mr Dad's Army, "now thats not a goose is it lad......thats a sheep (in dodgy 'farmer' accent)"
>And since it's on DVD...
