8mm DVD Review

Advantages: Characters, Tension.
Disadvantages: Not for everyone.

Tense stuff. Just don't show it to the kids."The things I do--I do them because I like them. Because I want to.'' -- 'Machine' (Chris Bauer) 8mm exhibits bad taste and may be shocking to most people, but to me it felt like a movie with serious intent, especially seen as though it tracks the descent of Tom Welles (Nicolas Cage), as the ordinary guy, into the nasty, immoral world of underground pornography. The character, understandably, is tormented, mentally, as he simply cannot accept why all the evil surrounding him exists. Notoriously panned by critics upon its release, this was by no means a milestone in the career of Cage, even though I believe it to contain ones of his most powerful performances. He plays a man dedicated, slightly obsessed, and deeply sickened by the events that unfold throughout his investigation into ...

Eminem DVD - 8 Mile

Advantages: Good storyline and cast
Disadvantages: None

8-Mile - Every moment is another chance I'm doing this review based on the DVD version of this film. 8-Mile is rated a 15 so it is only suitable for people aged over 15 due to some sexual scenes in the film. The Cast The main characters within the cast of this film are the famous white rapper Eminem, Kim Bassinger, Brittany Murphy, Mekhi Phifer. All the cast within this film are brilliant actors making the film realistic and helping you really get into the film. Each character is well suited to the part they play making the people within the film realistic helping drag you in all most like you are part of the film. Story Line The film is mainly about a group of young people in an American rapping community, Rabbit played by Eminem is a brilliant rapper working his way up trying to get himself known and make ...

Mr Bean - Vol. 2 DVD

Advantages: Hilarious comedy, good viewing
Disadvantages: only 3 episodes, expensive to buy whole set individually

Another installement to my DVD collection - the epic and classic comedy hero - Mr Bean. I love Rowan Atkinson, especially in Black Adder and also in the classic Mr Bean episodes. Despite my mood before hand, after watching Mr Bean I always feel much better, he always manages to intrigue my imagination with his biazarre mannerisms and abilty to turn the most straight forward of tasks into complete disaters! Having not being able to buy the whollebox set I have had to purchase and review each DVD volume one by one. This DVD contains 3 episodes, each with 3 or 4 sketches in them. All of whihc are brilliant and this DVD includes one of my favourites - the one where he goes to the swimming pool and clings to the diving board. The three episodes are entitled: Episode 1. 'The Curse Of Mr Bean', Episode 2. 'Mr Bean Goes To Town ...
