for reggae, a journey captured perfectly onThe Collection. This programme is split into two main sections: a 26-track video collection and a documentary detailing their 20th anniversary concert in September 2001. Forgoing chronology in favour of a more random approach, the video selection is slightly disjointed on a visual level, leaping from decade to decade within the space of a couple of tracks. While they have never made a truly great video (most feature the band lip-synching in various places around the world) UB40 have certainly been prolific over the years. "One In Ten" and "Food for Thought", their earliest work, represented the sound of young, multicultural Britain just as well as the more lauded Specials. And while there have perhaps been a few too many covers in recent times, it is hard to deny the effectiveness of "Red, Red Wine" and "Kingston Town".Much of the success of the documentary depends on how interesting you find infinite shots of pony-tailed men wheeling flight cases, but it does provide an insight into the background to such an event (which took place two days after the World Trade Centre attacks), if not the band themselves. There is also some excellent live footage, featuring guests such as Chrissie Hynde, Freddie McGregor and Sly&Robbie--proof that, despite the critical sneers, UB40 have taken their place amongst the reggae greats. On the DVD:UB40: The Collectionhas excellent digital sound, while the picture is unsurprisingly far better on the later tracks. The documentary and concert footage, too, are excellent, the latter benefiting from a multi-camera approach. Seemingly designed primarily for DVD rather than simply a VHS upgrade, this impressive package is polished and viewer friendly. There are several interactive elements, including a year-by-year look at the band's history. --Phil Udell

Advantages: must for your collection Disadvantages: listening to "Red Red Wine"
...I have followed UB40 since i first heard the single "Food for Thought" and i been a fan ever since.
The best of UB40 is a brilliant Album and i think their best one.
It has some great tracks on it especially all the early stuff, which in my opinion is when they were at there best..
It has singles on it like "King",....."1 in 10"....."Food for Thought",...
..."Rat in my kitchen"......"..."Dont Break my Heart" and "Red Red Wine" which is the only UB40 record i really dont like, i think they sold out a bit when they made that record.
But saying that the lads from Brum are a top class act and if you are fan you got to have this Album in your collection.
UB40 has a percussion section which is rare nowdays and the Cambell brothers have a very distictive vocals....

Advantages: features different characters Disadvantages: Barney!
...I really get fedup of watching the same childrens tv programmes over and over , so last week we were in Tesco`s and we spotted this dvd for £5. It has a variety of characters on here like Thomas the Tank Engine , Barney , Oswald and Fireman Sam with a wintery theme.
Here are some of my favourite episodes :-
Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends
The fogman
It is winter and is foggy , Cyril the fogman lays detenators on the tracks to warn the trains when there is fog.
The fat controller shows the trains a new invention a foghorn which is very noisy and the trains are really not impressed.
Cyril loses his job , Percy gets so annoyed with the foghorn because it is so noisy it makes the hillside shake and causes a landslide and is covered with rocks. The foghorn gets damaged , oh no not far away Thomas is on the track...
