Being a big fan of girly movies, when Two Weeks Notice was released at the cinema, for me it was a must see movie and I wasn’t disappointed. So when it was released on DVD at the end of last year I decided to add this to my growing DVD collection. I ordered this from the amazon website for around £15.99 but you can now get it for around £10.99 depending on where you purchase it from.
Two weeks notice is a romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant. Sandra Bullock plays Lucy Kelson, she is a hippy with a law degree. She is trying to save a building from being demolished by the company that George Wade (Hugh Grant) owns.
Lucy ends up going to work for George’s company. She sorts out his divorce for him and she helps him to make lots of very important decisions such as what envelopes the company should use and what to wear for dinner parties.
George starts phoning Lucy at all times of the day and night to help him out and when he calls her out of her best friends wedding to choose which suit he should wear she decides she’s had enough and tells him that she will work her two weeks notice. This film has some very funny parts in it like when Sandra Bullocks character gets very drunk on a boat trip and decides to show George how bendy she is, another time when they get stuck in a traffic jam and Lucy desperately needs to go to the toilet.
As with all films of this type you can tell almost immediately that these two characters are going to fall in love and live happily ever after, and this is what makes the film so good. The start of the film shows lots of cute (and some not so cute) baby pictures of Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock. Aahhh
This film is rated 12 and there is some mild bad language used in the film. The film runs for approximately 97 minutes. It is written and directed by Marc Lawrence who also directed Miss Congeniality.
The picture and sound quality of the DVD are excellent. There are also some extra features after the film has finished. These include Documentary, This has Sandra bullock talking about her character in the film and Hugh grant explaining his too. The writer/director tells us about The Wade corporation. They all talk individually about the film, why they do certain things and how the characters get together.
2 Additional scenes, 1. Wedding, George and Lucy get married and they are shown greeting guests and flying off in the company helicopter. 2. Lucy and Merrel jogging, Jogging in the park Merrel tells licy that she is pregnant. Then they discuss George - does Lucy fancy him?
Two Bleeps Notice, This part shows the actors forgetting their lines and swearing. It shows the cuts when they have uncontrollable laughter and cannot get their words out. I always like to watch these, and some of them are very funny.
Cast and Crew, This lists all of the cast and crew working on the film. These include Sandra Bullock as Lucy Kelson Hugh Grant as George Wade Dana Ivey as Ruth Kelson Robert Klein as Larry Kelson Heather Burns as Meryl Brooks David Haig as Howard Wade
Theatrical trailer, This shows the trailer used to advertise the film
Compared to other DVDs that I have seen the extra features on this one are quite poor.
For anyone who has not seen this film then I would recommend that you go out and buy it or borrow it from somebody. I found it very funny.

Advantages: Great actors, feel-good storyline Disadvantages: As with all of these kind of films, it is so predictable you probably know the story before you start watching it!
