Of course not everything goes as smoothly and the Transporter finds himself caught up in a criminal masterminds incredible plan, one that involves drug smuggling and the anti drug stance of a certain politician! I'm not a great fan of mindless action movies but if they are well made and don't try to pretend to be something they are not then they can certainly pass the time and entertain, and this most certainly does that. The running time of 87 minutes just flew by when I was watching it!
Transporter 2 is written by Luc Besson, mastermind behind the French Taxi films (which are fabulous), Nikita and Leon amongst others, and is in a similar vein to those. In all cases criminals are the focus of the film, though it varies by degrees from the petty criminal of Taxi to the cold-blooded assassin of Leon, and they are shown to be quite complex characters with their own moral compasses. Not always the black and white world most films inhabit but a murky grey. The Transporter is not a criminal as such but he is not a stand up citizen either.
So we have a European film that just walks all over pretty much everything that Hollywood has done of late, why is this? I think it is because Besson et al don't try to be clever, they don't try to make out there is any depth to the film with a complicated plot or subplot. They know exactly the audience they are targeting, young males in the main, and tailor things toward them.
As Transporter is the name of the film, and the main characters job, the car fetish is taken to extremes, not in a 2 Fast, 2 Furious way, but the man loves his car and he KNOWS how to drive it. This guy is one step above bodyguard defensive and offensive driver training. What he can do with a car is just unbelievable, just like it should be in this kind of film!
Jason Statham looks good, is cool, calm and driven to clear his name and to catch the bad guys. He is probably the one attraction for the ladies in this film. You wouldn't really expect him to be a great martial artist, or at least I didn't anyway, the spectacular opening scene where some thugs threaten to steal his car and a fantastically choreographed fight with a hose pipe that is straight out of a Jackie Chan film shows two things… how accomplished Statham actually is and the Americans how to do a classy over the top martial arts engagement.
When you add into the mix a tall, leggy female assassin (Kate Nauta, first role) who seems to be hell bent on killing The Transporter while clad only in lingerie (and before anyone says anything this makes perfect sense, after all if there were any male witnesses to her murders would they be likely to be able to give a good description of her face to the police afterwards?), and a preposterous villain who is over the top, but in a good way, and you have the perfect male action movie. When you through in a witty script, "He's not really a friend, He's French", some great secondary characters (The French detective visiting the US and you end up with a film that really, really should not be as enjoyable as it is. Top marks go to all involved, as Transporter 2 is a guilty pleasure from start to finish!
Advantages: Great action film, lots of fighting and stunts Disadvantages: A bit unrealistic if you like true to life films
Frank's back! And he's fitter and better than before.
Working as a temporary driver for a young rich kid called Jack, Frank lands himself in a host of trouble after promising him he will never let anyone hurt him!
He is (in true action/adventure style) kidnapped along with young Jack by the nasty and evil Gianni and his crazy sidekick Lola. Under the guise of a ransom, Gianni has bigger plans for Jack and his family. That was until Frank got in ... ...which once within the human body becomes highly contagious once the host starts to breath on other people. In Jack's case, his parents. Daddy is very powerful and is about to meet with several extremely powerful men from other countries. If he's infected, it could wipe out a lot of very very important people.
Can Frank save the day again?

...have never seen the first Transporter film so I cannot compare the two. However I can say that after watching this one, I personally feel that you don't have to watch the first one in order to enjoy this. It may help understand the storyline a little more in the fact that Frank was a transporter and what exactly that means, but the kidnapping plot line didn't need any prior knowledge at all.
I felt the actors and actresses did a really good job ... ...shot was really good too. All the special effects went well and Leterrier didn't overdo it on the sound either. The action scenes were constantly there which kept me on the edge of my seat and I really enjoyed watching it.
I would definitely recommend this to anybody who loves a good action film, whether you are a male or a female.
It is certificate 15 and contains violence, partial nudity, sexual content and occasional bad language. ...

...did really like the first Transporter movie and so it was really inevitable that I’d be seeing this regardless of my prior concerns about it.
Statham resumes his role from the first movie as a Transporter, a man paid to deliver things from one place to another. Only this time he has moved to Miami and the films starts with him doing a favour for a friend and acting as a chauffer. When the little boy he is driving around becomes the target of a kidnapping ... ...This second instalment of the Transporter series sees Statham team up for the second time with Louis Leterrier. His direction seems to have come on a little from the first movie but with that in mind it still looks pretty good. The fight sequences are very well choreographed and look really well put together. The car and boat chases also look amazing with Leterrier really using some great angles and effects to create a film that looks really good.

...but my friend bought me Transporter 2 for my birthday and thought I would watch it to make a change. I finished watching it about 15 minutes ago and had to come straight on here to tell you all about it!!
This obviously is a sequel to the film The Transporter (hence the highly clever name Transporter 2!). Incase you haven't seen the first one and have no idea what I am talking about, The Transporter is Frank Martin played by Jason Statham (Revolver, ... ...a Transporter. He is paid to transport things from one place to another and the 'things' he is transporting are usually highly dangerous or something that somebody else wants and Frank therefore has to defend his life, and the 'thing' he is transporting most of the time!
In this case, he is hired by Audrey Billings (played by the very beautiful Amber Valletta, 'Hitch' and 'The Family Man') and her Congressman husband Jefferson Billings (Matthew ...

...managed to catch the first Transporter movie when it was on the TV late one night, and I am glad that we did! It was a fast thrilling film, and the first time I had seen Jason Statham in a film. So when my mum said she had the second film in the franchise on DVD and did I want to borrow it, I said yes straight away, interested to see how it would differ to the first movie.

Advantages: Watching Jason kick some a*ses! Disadvantages: Some of the stunts are a little far fetched?
Since Jason Statham was awsome in Snatch and Lock Stock, I thought the Transporter (I and II) would be equally good. Unfortunately, it is far, far from being as good BUT.... if you are a fan of films like XXX and action packed movies with crazy stunts and mad fight scenes, then you should enjoy it. Jason (Frank Martin in the film) did most of the stunts himself, which is quite an achievement in itself.
In my opinion, the first film was way better than the second one, in that the story line was more complex and the acting from the supporting cast a lot less dodgy. The car chases are most enjoyable in both but in the second one, one of the stunts in nothing short of 'appalling'. Frank Martin ends up with a bomb stuck under his car so he simply gets rid of the unwanted bomb by taking off sideways and grazing a pillar which knocks it off ...
