The Transformers, are these robots that can transform into a vehicle, there are 2 different races, Autobots, and the Decepticons, they are 2 races trying to destroy each other. Cruel Intentions had won me over from the start with "Every Me, Every You" by Placebo as the opening track. We meet Sebastian Valmont a young man who is extremely wealthy and arrogant. He seduces women for fun and then discards them as a sort of game and even uses seduction as a weapon as we see when we meet him first he's leaving the office of an angry psychiatrist who has been over charging.
His step-sister, Kathryn, is not dissimilar. When we first meet her she is in a meeting with a mother of a girl who is just entering the school Kathryn is head-girl of. They are all clearly of New York's upper class of the Upper-East. Kathryn agrees to take on the girl Cecile but despite the innocent performance Kathryn puts up for the mother her true intentions aren't so honourable. Advantages: Entertaining Disadvantages: Not much in the way of story
Transformers is a big-budget blockbuster about two extraterrestrial factions, the heroic and selfless Autobots and the evil Decepticons. Teenager Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) unwittingly gets involved in their war as the transformers come to earth in search of the Allspark, each with different intentions for it.
A lot of people will be put off by Michael Bay being the director, he is not known for his intelligent, thought provoking films, quite the opposite in fact, some may even say his films are all flash and no substance. And Ok, he's no Kubrick but he does what he does better than anyone. He can do action very well, and this is why he was a good choice for this film. Even Pearl Harbour had fantastic action scenes, I wish they could do a 'Michael Bay' cut of Pearl Harbour in which there would be about 40mins of action and that's it ...
