Trainspotting again is one of those must see films a true British social realism film that you just cant live life without seeing. Like most British films Train spotting tells it how it is the film tells you the bad and good sides of everything to do with live the heroin addict life. Trainspotting is not just about drug addiction, but about the connection between wasted youth and the spiritually bankrupt society that has abandoned them. Why is this film called trainspotting is a question i used to always ask myself the reason is that junkies used to meet up at train stations therefore looking like trainspotters

The Plot

Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor), a young man with hardly any prospects and even fewer ambitions, lives in ghetto like Edinburgh. Like most of his so called mates, Renton is a addicted to herion and on the surface he loves the drug's ability to make ever problem go away; financing his heroin habit provides excitement and challenges that his life lacks
however it also has dangers. Renton's two best friends are also junkies, Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller),obsessed with James Bond and has always tried to be beter than Renton, and Spud (Ewan Bremner),a truly nice person but just a junkie. Renton and his pals also hang out with Begbie (Robert Carlyle), a near enough psychotic hard man who hates heroin but is a socially acceptable addict: he likes to drink.

Renton for me is actually the villain in the film he is the one that causes all the bad things to happen, for example Tommy(Kevin McKidd) was his best mate who never touched heroin but one day he looses his girlfriend (which is also Renton's fault)and turns to smack, This is the worst bit of the film as he says he would never touch heroin but when you see the state he is in and the trouble he gets in it saddens the audience and makes you think is heroin worth it.

Renton also meets a girl but theres even a down side to that Diane(Kelly MacDonald) is not who he thought she was, to his horror he finds out shes 15 year old school girl he tries to leave but she threatens him with the police and with that there relationship shit rows

After too many encounters with the law, Renton quits heroin and moves to London, where he finds a job, a flat, and does well for himself. However the boys, Sick Boy, Begbie, and Spud all arrive at his doorstep waiting to make the smack deal of a lifetime, leading Renton back into drugs and crime. which i feel is one of the values of the movie if you have a 'socially bad' group of friends the only way to stop being an addict or whatever is to leave them completely.

There are many disturbing scenes in this film that i would love to tell you about but there better of been seen, if you have never seen this film i would seriously watch it, it shows you a heroin addicts life from there point of view with Renton being the worst out of all of them.

The soundtrack to trainspotting is awesome here are a few classic songs that are used in the film "Choose Life" - PF Project this is part of the famous dialog that Renton says at the beginning here is a few others "Sing" - Blur "Perfect Day" - Lou Reed and "A Final Hit" - Leftfield.
