At last the real reason why computers were invented. To make fantastic films like this!
This computer-animated film is so much fun from start to finish that you can watch it over and over again and still enjoy every minute. The quality of the animation is astounding and with it’s very amusing story line this film is propelled into my list of films always to watch again.
Andy is a young lad with a favourite toy – a cowboy named Sheriff Woody. When Andy gets his new birthday present – a Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger toy, Woody is no longer the favourite toy.
What makes this film special is that we get to see into the real world of toys. Here toys can walk and talk and each have terrific personalities. Andy is about to move house and Woody and Buzz nearly get left behind as they are trapped next door in Sid’s house. Sid is a sadistic toy destroyer and he plans to launch Buzz into space with his new high powered rocket.
Tom Hanks is the voice of Sheriff Woody and Tim Allen the voice of Buzz Lightyear. These were inspired choices as my opinion these match exactly the characters they are portraying.
Although this may have been made as a children’s film it’s appeal is certainly for all age groups. (We have all imagined that our toys can really come to life!)
The making of this film is excellent and one I can really recommend.
