I am a car freak. I love comedy, cars and anything to do with weird or impossible challenges. Basically anything that makes me laugh. Top gear ticks all my boxes. A comedy car show, with wacky challenges is just up my street. So as you can imagine i really like top gear! One of the best car shows around. I watch every Top Gear show that is on and even the repeats on DAVE! So hear is my first review - Top Gear!
THE SHOW
Top Gear the show is a show about reviewing cars, interviewing celebrities and about three men having a laugh! It is a very man orientated program, although some women might enjoy the humour and the laughs. The show is presented by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, who has only recently returned to Top Gear after an accident last year. The show is all about cars, the fastest car, how the car handles and usually which the better car is. One show compared the best family car. The shows also include challenges occasionally; such as the drive across America. Or their drive across the channel on amphibious vehicles. He show is full of fun jokes and the three presenters are always cracking wise cracks and taking the Mickey out of James May.
THE PRESENTERS
I think all the presenters present Top Gear very well, however here are my opinions: Jeremy Clarkson: Jeremy can be a bit patronising and always hogs the fast cars. AS the main narrator it can be a bit boring to listen to him all the time. As he is a bit too sarcastic and always hog the main parts in the show. Richard Hammond: Richard Hammond is one of the best presenters being very funny and cool. He gets picked on by the other presenters as he is small, but who doesn't like a little bit of competitiveness? He is also very jolly. However, he has a few annoying habits and his hair is a bit weird! James May: To sum up James May all I have to say is: An Old Fart. Captain Slow! He is the slowest, most boring presenter and a real party pooper. As everyone else is jolly and jokey, he is just boring and goody -goody. He does everything wrong and is rather hopeless. However, he does occasionally hit upon the odd moment of funniness! It is weird as they let him take the Bugatti Veayron around the secret German test track.
THE CHALLENGES
The challenges taken on by the presenters are weird and wild. The range from driving across salt plains, to launching car shuttles! My favourite challenge has to be the Polar Challenge as it is really exciting. It was full of record breaking achievements and it was great fun to watch. It was fun, jolly and a bit dangerous. It was thrilling, jolly and really funny. Ranked second next to this the amphibious car challenge as that was just ridiculous and hilarious! I think the challenges are part of the most interesting part of Top Gear!
MY VERDICT!
Top Gear is great fun and really ridiculous. A real boys' laugh. It is great to watch and great for anyone who likes cars. I would recommend this to anyone over 12. Also it is much, much better than fifth gear! Top Gear is one of the best shows going and it would be perfect if they showed it more often. Even with James May!!
