...my attention,
Top Gear is what I thought was just a BBC TV, car-buying guide, but it is this and a hell of a lot more.
The DVD Revved Up was great fun to watch, Presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May have a great connection each one feeds of the other naturally, with their wit and banter, towards one another and the cars.
I didn't realise a car programme could be so much fun, I was laughing out loud ... ...Renault Espace, all raced by top professional racing car drives, and number 1 car presenter James May, does he stand a chance?
Amazing a Mitsubishi Evo (okay a rally car) racing of all things, a Bobsleigh, of course the car has to handle its self-downhill in similar conditions.
The piece I really enjoyed, was when the trio had £1500 and have got to buy the best Porsche they can for their money, and then put them through ... more
Brought this DVD for my husband at Christmas, not really something I would buy for my own personal viewing. Anyway as I was sitting here at the P.C he put the DVD on, within minutes it had caught my attention,
Top Gear is what I thought was just a BBC TV, car-buying guide, but it is this and a hell of a lot more. The DVD Revved Up was great fun to watch, Presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May have a great connection each one feeds of the other naturally, with their wit and banter, towards one another and the cars. I didn't realise a car programme could be so much fun, I was laughing out loud almost all the way through.
The team put a range of vehicles through a whole set of gruelling tests.
The Invincible truck. Watch as they put a Toyota pickup to the test, is there anything that this pickup cannot take; they batter the poor thing in every conceivable manner, just watch, its incredible survival rate, got to buy one of these.
Watch Clarkson in an Aston Martin race across France, against his co presenters, who are on board a 200 mph TGV Train to the South of France, Who will win?
The Hilarious People carrier race, with vehicles such as the Renault Espace, all raced by top professional racing car drives, and number 1 car presenter James May, does he stand a chance?
Amazing a Mitsubishi Evo (okay a rally car) racing of all things, a Bobsleigh, of course the car has to handle its self-downhill in similar conditions.
The piece I really enjoyed, was when the trio had £1500 and have got to buy the best Porsche they can for their money, and then put them through a series of tests, including a 70 mile London to Brighton trip, This was one of the funniest bits of filming I have ever watched, worth buying the DVD just for this piece.
Also a breath taking challenge is when Clarkson tries to out run and prevent missile lock from an Apache R.A.F attack Helicopter.
And a beach race challenge of a Jaguar, a new BMW 6 series and of course a Porsche, who would your money be on, be careful I would of lost a fortune, you'll be amazed at the results.
Bonus footage: Their test driver a guy solely referred to as Stig, is a character you never really see, normally he is suited up, and driving hell for leather as he speed tests the cars, this extra footage shows you the best of those tests, also a cockpit footage when the driver takes out a formula one race car in attempt to top the programmes speed record.
And of course all the funny out takes of filming footage.
Any ladies out there thinking this isn't for them, think twice, is a super DVD, three handsome presenters and the cars everyone dreams of having.
I can't wait to watch the other DVD I brought him 'Back in the Fast Lane'.

Advantages: Whole Winter Olympics Special (not a clip compilation), Widescreen, two extras reels Disadvantages: One of the segments has previously appeared in the Revved Up compilation.
For anyone who's unfamiliar with TOPGEAR, it is the motoring review programme on BBC2 which is hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. And if it was that simple, it'd be boring. Thing is it's not that simple, and ever since the 27 year-old programme underwent a dramatic format overhaul in 2002 - it's never been boring.
TOPGEAR 3 - TO THE METAL (a pre-release title, the DVD is now available as TOPGEAR - WINTER OLYMPICS) is the third BBC DVD release of the programme. Where previous releases BACK IN THE FASTLANE and REVVEDUP have focused on providing best-of series clip compilations TO THE METAL is one complete episode, the TOPGEAR WINTER OLYMPICS SPECIAL.
This was broadcast on BBC2 to coincide with the 2006 Turin Winter Games and this programme's premise was to take winter Olympic events to Lillehammer, Norway ...
