Brosnan's second stab at Bond builds nicely on his first outing (Goldeneye) and ends up being a better film, looking more realistic and bringing in a new adversary (away from the cold war and good old SPECTRE).
This follows in the vein set by the previous Bond films and you're pretty much on safe ground when it comes to the stunts, set pieces, and effects. The cast are good, the direction tight, and the story works well enough. But it never really excels and despite getting to see Terri Hatcher with next to nothing on (from behind only, pervs) this never really comes to life or stands out from the formulaic Bond style. Of particular not though is product placement as the film's sponsers are EXTREMELY prominent and this may grate on the old nerves after a while.
The end result? A routine outing for Bond which is certainly not a disappointment, but doesn't really excel. A nice way to spend a couple of hours but not the best in the series
