Tomorrow is just another day for Bond

Advantages: Great modern work all round
Disadvantages: Ever so slightly lacks Cubby Broccoli's magic

Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) is the 18th Bond film, and the second starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. Brosnan's first outing as Bond in Goldeneye in 1995 was a great success following a 6 year gap since Timothy Dalton's Bond in Licence to Kill in1989. Goldeneye bridged the gap following the end of the Cold War and the reduction of Soviet villains for Bond, and paved the way for a more modern Bond dealing with more topical issues, as we see here in Tomorrow Never Dies. The Plot Despite the efforts of James Bond to prevent him, American terrorist Henry Gupta acquires a GPS encoder used by British forces to sell to media giant Elliot Carver, who plans to use the encoder to start a war between China and the Unted Kingdom. Unaware of this, but suspicious of Carver, Bond is sent undercover to find out what is going on, and to rpevent ...

Review of Tomorrow Never Dies (DVD)

Tomorrow never Dies.

Advantages: Good for kids
Disadvantages: A bit dated

The Tomorrow People. I remembered the earlier shows, probably from 1973 when it first aired through to 1979 when it initially ended. Watching it again on DVD was very, very enjoyable and to be honest quite refreshing. It was at the time an imaginative program and held a 70's quaintness. Remembered nothing of the second incarnation of the show, 1992 - 1995 and again nothing of the third reinvented show from 2001 - 2007. You follow some rare talented humans as they 'Break out' and change from normal humans to the next stage in human evolution. They have abilities such as telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation. They have adventures inventing new technologies and fighting evil villains on this planet and from other galaxies. There are a few surprises along the way. The 1973 - 1979 Series Series 3 ...

Review of The Tomorrow People - Series 3 (Box Set) (DVD)

If Tomorrow Never Comes

Advantages: a real feel good film with excellent songs and great acting
Disadvantages: a bit of a tear-jerker and at nearly 3 hours it's quite lengthy to sit through

The film carries the tagline: "A Story Of A Lifetime.......In A Heartbeat". I watched Kal Ho Na Ho (If Tomorrow Never Comes) for the first time recently and though it was released some time ago I felt I had to review it as I really enjoyed the film (even though it was a real weepie in some parts). Be warned - it's about 3 hours long, so you might want to watch it in 2 separate sittings! ~*~ CAST/CREW ~*~ Starring the charismatic Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, the beautiful Preity Zinta and the gorgeous Saif Ali Khan, with excellent support from Jaya Bachchan. Kal Ho Naa Ho was released in November 2003 and is certified 12. The film is directed by Nikhil Advani (his first film) and was written and produced by Karan Johar (who has produced many a hit Bollywood film in recent years). The cinematography is by Anil Mehta ...
