Ok, ok, I'm a bit of a geek okay!!! I love Time Team, absolutely adore it! And I'm not really into History (I dropped History at school!) and I'm not an archaelogist and I don't really like hanging out in muddy fields but there is something about this programme that is soooo interesting!
Never seen it? Well heres the premise: Tony Robinson presents it, the Team do some research into a site which needs to be archaelogically dug then he acts like the layman and asks lots of questions about what they are digging and what they are finding and tries to get them to uncover the myseries of the site.
But the archaelogists really make this programme. Mick is the chief arch and he looks like a mad professor with long wispy hair and never ending sceptisism about the findings. Stewart is the landscape arch and spends his time riding round on his bike looking at the geometry of the area. John is the geophysics guy who picks up all the electro magnetic activity and stuff to guide them to where they dig and lastly theres Phil, this guy has so much energy, hes a west country chap with just so much enthusaism for what he finds it just sucks you in.
Anyway, to the DVD! This DVD is a great one for getting into Time Team because it has all the interesting episodes on it! I mean, Time Team can't get beauitful mosaiced floors everytime them dig, nor can they find a roman villa! Sometimes when you watch the TV programme they find absolutly nothing and whilst that is still good for us die hard fans it is no good for people with a short attention span. This DVD has some great episodes on it. Like the Roman Villa that was found, one of the largest ever discovered in Britain, the Spitfire that crashed in the Fens and the beautiful mosaiced floor just outside of Cheltenham in someones back garden. Some of the finds will actually have you gasping because they are so spectacular! Tony Robinson is a great presenter, so interested even on a freezing hill in November. the rest of the Team are so knowledgeable you wish that you had them teaching you at school (perhaps if I had i may not have dropped History). This is a great learning tool for kids to get them interested in archaelogy but it is great sunday night viewing as well! And the great thing about a DVD - no adverts so you can just watch it all the way through!
I would definetly recommend this to anyone looking for something a bit different. A word of warning though, once you start watching these they just go on and on as its a 3 disc set so beware. Give it a try!!!!

I love Time Team :-p We sit around the TV and poke fun at what they are doing on the screen cos most of the time it isn't accurate, but at least its getting people involved in archy. Nice review :-D
