Give the Teacher a Tick

Advantages: Good easy to read book
Disadvantages: Old Fashioned pictures

This book is Mr Tick the Teacher. It is a title from the Happy Families collection of books which have been designed and written especially for beginner and new readers. The front cover of the book is light green and has a picture of an old fashioned teacher and his wife with a small group of children around him. The title is above this in blue lettering and above the title is the Happy Families logo in blue rectangles. The back cover of the book is also light green and has a white rectangle in the centre which has small picture showing other titles available in this collection. On the first page of the book we are introduced to six children with small pictures of them and their names above them. We then hear about Mr Tick the teacher. He lives in a big house with his wife and children. We are then told that the children we see are ...

All Aboard This Mighty Blue Train of Justice!

Advantages: appeal for all ages, great characters, wonderful parodies, good animation with a focus on perspect
Disadvantages: one missing episode in the US editions, and only three glorious seasons!

on with fans. Only 8 episodes were ever created, and they too are available on DVD. Warburton, no stranger to voice work either, would be a great choice to voice this beloved superhero should the animated series ever be revived and Townsend not be interested in returning to the role. "The Tick" is a marvelous stress-buster, brimming with wry humor, hilarious superhero parodies, and general good pokes at popular culture. In The Beginning: The Tick vs The Idea Men We meet the Tick during an interview and learn of his arrival in The City, where he was assigned during the annual superhero competition in Reno. In The City, Tick meets Arthur, just another faceless accountant in a moth suit, but destined to be the greatest sidekick ever, chum! In the comic, Tick was actually committed to an insane asylum outside of The City for his belief in ...

Review of The Tick - Series 1 (DVD)

Give that FLEA a TICKing off by Bob Martin!

Advantages: Not a bad price. It works.
Disadvantages: None

It's that time of year again - fleas, bugs, ticks and the like. I've noticed my dog, Ollie, scratching quite a lot lately. (And now me after watching 'Aracnaphobia' on telly last night!). I've even managed to pick a couple of flea's off the poor dog and squash them! Urgh! So, on a recent trip to Tesco's, I bought a couple of Bob Martin products - the 'flea and tick spot on' and some spray for the home. I was dertermined to the kill those wretched flea's if it killed me! I paid £2.98 for 3 very small tubes, which will last you around 3 months. The packaging is red on top, and yellow on the bottom. The partiular one I bought is for small dogs and puppies. There is a lovely little pooch on the front of a Jack Russell, very similar to Ollie, although he's a smooth coat! On the back is all the information you will need to ...
