Spooks - Series One
Advantages: Amazing programe with great special effects and awesome actors. Disadvantages: hard too navigate special features etc on the dvd
This box set is amazing.
Got it for christmas and ended up watching 6hours worth of it on christmas day. Thats how addictive and awesome it is. At first the way that the DVD is set out it can be abit confusing too work out where to find everything but once that is worked out it is easy to use. The dvd is great as it includes lots of extras such as interviews with just about everyone involved in the making of the film (Actors,Director,Producers,Editors,Writers ...

Miss Marple Box set (Joan Hickson)
Advantages: Has the best portrail of Miss Marple ever Disadvantages: No special features
...Joan Hickson will always be the best 'Miss Marple'. Possibly as she was the first one I saw playing the part. I'm surprised that it took the BBC so long to releace them on DVD
From the acting to the setting to the pacing... everything seems just right. Every part of Joan Hicksons performance (which earned her two BAFTA nominations) was perfect. She plays Miss Marple as the 'rather nosey busy body' who the criminal always seems to dismiss as past ... ...brain she can always solve the crimes faster than the inspector. Marple lives in her small village and knows everything that goes on there. Through this she knows the world. She is always saying 's/he reminded me of...' Unlike Poirot who always had a good relatioship with the Inspector, the relationship between Marple and the inspector in these storys is a little more strained. He thinks she's an interfering old busy body, which she is, but she always ...

One for the guys!
Advantages: Brilliant fight sequences Disadvantages: A good but occasionally weak storyline which can rely on the action a bit too much
The Transporter is the first in the trilogy of brilliant action movies starring Jason Statham, The Transporter is followed Transporter 2 (2005 ) & the aptly named Transporter 3 (2008) which I am yet to see. However I?m here to talk about the film that started it all, The Transporter was released 2nd October 2002 & was greeted with a mixed reception from the critics, the film had an average of a 53% rating which means just over half of the critics ... ...Despite it?s average reception the film did quite well at the box office, grossing an estimated $43,928,932 on a budget of $20,900,000. The Transporter is rated a 15 which is to be expected & it runs for approximately 94 minutes. The Transporter is directed by Louis Leterrier & Corey Yuen. Louis Leterrier is most famous for directing this film, the first sequel & Fearless, a martial arts film starring Jet Li & Morgan Freeman. Corey Yuen, the more ...

Events occur in real time
Advantages: The whole thing is pure brilliance Disadvantages: Too long a wait between boxset releases
...welcoming into the world of 24 was slightly by fluke, on my way to work i had heard radio djs rave about this new series, similar to what i heard about Heroes a few years later. They were saying this guy Jack Bauer played by Kiefer Sutherland, was a bit of a legend and they couldnt stop going on about it. Clearly when something impresses you so much to broadcast it on air, it requires checking out at least. But as my main concern at that time was ... ...to detail the plot with 24 as progression is made throughout the day and the finale may have little or no bearing on what occurs at the start but i will endeavour to bring the idea over here to give you a taste of what is happening.
Word arrives into the counter terrorist unit (CTU) based in LA at midnight that there will be an assassination attempt today on black presidential candidate David Palmer. Director Jack Bauer is called at his home, that ...

The Definitive Holmes and Watson
Advantages: Beautifully restored versions of the greatest Holmes and Watson of all time Disadvantages: None a single one
...not conversant with the Rathbone/Bruce Sherlock Holmes films, they began as almost A-movies for Twentieth Century Fox first in Hound and then The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. At this point Fox decided not to film any further adventures but Universal, ever desiring to put together B-movie series, which might draw in audiences, negotiated with Conan Doyle's estate to gain the rights. Successfully so, they brought back Rathbone, as an angular, slightly ... ...Baskervilles and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes remained faithful to Conan Doyle's late Victorian, fin-de-siecle, milieu, Universal decided to update Holmes and Watson to the present day, and as such the first few films, including Sherlock Holmes in Washington and Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon were patriotic flag-wavers, where Holmes was pitted against dastardly Nazis but it soon became clear to them that it was fog drenched London and/or ...
