Mother, Mother! Blood, Blood!
Advantages: A seemless epic of murderous proportions. Disadvantages: A lack of content on three discs
...one! But all the original Psycho movies, starring Anthony Perkins. I always get a bit mad when people call a DVD with more than one disc a box set. Yes it's in a box but hardly a box set! This set has nothing out of the ordinary or exceptional about its inner contents, so to call it a box set is an insult. Right that's my moan out of the way, lets get on with the show.
Psycho
-----------
Marion Crane has been having an affair with shop worker ... ...shot in black and white Psycho is one of the best known horror movies, and it launched the term "Slasher" when referring to a movie of this type. During the film you are constantly told that it's very hot, 1960 was not a hot year in America. However for the movies Director Alfred Hitchcock (A Brit) it was, all his films prior to Psycho had been filmed in the winter. 1960 actually goes on record as being one of the coolest summers of the 60's in America. ...

15 MINUTES THE DVD AND FILM REVIEWED
Advantages: Good acting, good effects, interesting storyline Disadvantages: Slow storyline, a little lacking in the storyline in places
Introduction ~~
I was attracted to 15 minutes because of the presence of Robert De Niro, he has starred in some of the best films ever made and there were high expectations for his appearance in 15 minutes.
15 Minutes is not your typical action film – it is not merely made up of tough-talking cops, rapid gunfire and big explosions. Unlike many action films it is totally unpredictable and with a twist in the tale you will be kept guessing ... ...end. The story is also remarkably clever and in many ways you could describe 15 Minutes as being a satire.
The Story ~~
Robert De Niro plays Eddie Flemming, a cigar smoking famous New York cop, “It’s all about the image” he brags taking a drag on his fat cigar and a swig of whiskey then walking over smiling to give a interview on the latest murder case to hit New York. Media-savvy Flemming is still a fairly likeable character, ...

When Mad Max got Rich
Advantages: A glossy and mildly-diverting thriller Disadvantages: The film is superficial and predictable
In the mid-1990s film-directors Ron Howard and Mel Gibson must have felt quietly satisfied as they sailed along serenely in the same boat. Howard's tribute to all-American pluck, Apollo 13, and Gibson's tribute to all-American fantasy, Braveheart, had both picked up Oscars (the first, understandably; the second, perplexingly) and when the pair teamed up for a new project there was little doubt that fashion and momentum would propel them onward ... ...starring Gibson - was, predictably, a box-office smash and a critical triumph. The film is a reworking of an old 1950s pot-boiler, Ransom! (the latter's scriptwriters get the story credit in this updated remake), and exploits that most fertile of plot devices, the kidnapping. Cue much huddling around telephones, sweating, swearing, tearing out of hair, beating of male chest by hysterical woman, and apple-pie angst. Ransom is a big-budget, slick ...
