Not quite a demon of a film, but not bad.
Advantages: Enjoyable, plot draws you in
Disadvantages: Female lead character not very strong

Advantages: Skilfully directed, great special-effects and acting... entertaining.

Agatha Christie at her best
Advantages: the plots keep you watching for hours
Disadvantages: there is only 4 films
...is brilliant. If your an agatha christie fan you will love this. The most famous fim of them all is included (murder on the orient express). In this you see famous faces such as sean connery and albert finney. This is a great film seeing the murder of one man. There are many clues and many red herrings. ...to visit. Again in true agatha christie style this film is full of twist and has such a creative plot line. my least favourite is the mirror cracked, i am not a big miss marple fan but it is still worth a watch no matter.
All i will say is if you like agatha christie this box set is a must. I have not given much detail away about the film as i do not wish to ruin it for those of you who have not had the joy of seeing them yet. ...

Early Hitchcock doesn't quite cut it
Advantages: Very entertaining in those days I'm sure...
Disadvantages: but we're in the 21st century now
...films deemed too irrelevant for the common movie-goer. Alas I just can't seem to give this DVD the thumbs up.
You see, the thing is -if a black and white film, handicapped with the inevitable restrictions of movie-making in yesteryears, is to be an enjoyable experience for an audience today, it must have certain qualities of timelessness to it. Casablanca, The Seventh Seal and The Lady Vanishes are adored, remastered and distributed widely today ...

I watched The Lady Vanishes (Hitchcock's last British film before he moved to America to make such international blockbusters like Vertigo and Psycho) prior to this DVD and found that to be suspenseful enough despite it being made around the same time with this film.
