The Lady Vanishes - Or Does She?
Advantages: An enjoyable Hitchcock thriller with a fair bit of comedy
Disadvantages: Some might find it dated
The Lady Vanishes is an Alfred Hitchcock thriller released in 1938.

Advantages: Great story and technically outstanding

The dizzy height of Hitchcock's success
Advantages: Suspenseful, beautifully filmed
Disadvantages: None for me
...best film, I have seen Vertigo many times, yet each time manage to find something else in it that I didn't notice before. This time is no different. It is a perfect mixture of suspense coupled with the unexpected, great acting and direction. If you only watch one Hitchcock, this is the one to watch.

A brave party to host - but will they get found out?
Advantages: Stunning filming and direction, the subtleties, two leads
Disadvantages: Some average acting from the supporting cast, but still okay
...or four Hitchcock films, and each one has impressed me greatly. I shall certainly be seeking out more. If you want to buy Rope on DVD, it is available from amazon.co.uk for £4.92, and I would say that this masterclass of presenting a dramatic thriller is well worth having. Recommended! ...

Advantages: 39 episodes in one place, classic television
Disadvantages: Addictive
Alfred Hitchcock Presents… Season One
This box set includes 6 discs from the first Season, which aired in 1955. Watching every single episode in this box set will take up 16 hours of time. I remember Alfred Hitchcock presents from the remakes in the 80s. When I spotted this box set I decided to buy it as the 1950's originals held more appeal for me. These episodes are classics and in my opinion better than the remakes. Each episode is introduced ...
...that you will recognise including Alfred Hitchcock's daughter. The acting is very good. The episodes are in black and white but I think this works better. It's a classic.
The box set does not contain any extras, just literally the 6 discs and the titles of the episode behind the front cover. Still, it's worth the money and definitely worth buying. Looking forward to Season Two being released soon.
