Agatha Christie at her best
Advantages: the plots keep you watching for hours Disadvantages: there is only 4 films
...is brilliant. If your an agatha christie fan you will love this. The most famous fim of them all is included (murder on the orient express). In this you see famous faces such as sean connery and albert finney. This is a great film seeing the murder of one man. There are many clues and many red herrings. For those of you who have not seen this film i will not spoil it by saying what happens, all i will say is if you go on the orient express lock your ... ...to visit. Again in true agatha christie style this film is full of twist and has such a creative plot line. my least favourite is the mirror cracked, i am not a big miss marple fan but it is still worth a watch no matter.
All i will say is if you like agatha christie this box set is a must. I have not given much detail away about the film as i do not wish to ruin it for those of you who have not had the joy of seeing them yet. ...

Evil under the Sun
Advantages: cast, direction, cinematography, soundtrack Disadvantages: some might be bothered by the differences between book and film
...film adaptation of the 1941 Agatha Christie murder mystery.
Cast
Sir Peter Ustinov as Mr Hercule Poirot - 4/5
After his outstanding portrayal of the finicky Belgian detective in Death on the Nile Ustinov's performance here is a bit disappointing. Although his acting is strong, energetic and certainly entertaining, his interpretation of the grouchy, imperious detective lacks exactly that - he is just too kind and affable.
Jane Birkin ... ...this film adaptation of the Agatha Christie murder mystery:
- in the book the whole story is set on Burgh Island and not, like in the film, on a Mediterranean island (Sa Dragonera, an island off Mallorca's shore, whose scenery, however, was only used for visual shots)
- many negligible characters have been taken out
- the author Rex Brewster in Agatha Christie's novel actually is a woman (Emily Brewster)
- in the book Mrs Gardener's first name ...

Action-packed with some witty dialogue but still flawed somehow
Advantages: Quite thrilling when it gathers pace, seemed an authentic depiction of London, some humour Disadvantages: Something about Downey Jnrs depiction of Holmes didnt work somehow, not for all ages/the squeamish
...Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson start out by catching a serial killer who dabbles in the the supernatural, an evil man called Lord Blackwood who is sentenced to death, indeed Watson confirms he's dead after he's hung. Things take a distinctly sinister turn, however, when they discover than Blackwood has apparently risen from the dead and Holmes recalls what he told him before he was hung, which indicated that more ... ...actor (Robert Downey Jnr.) played Sherlock Holmes, while an English actor (Jude Law), played his right hand man, Dr. Watson. Now of course I knew that before I went to see the movie, infact I quite like Robert Downey Jnr. as an actor and I have enjoyed some of his other movies and the fact that he plays the main character was one of the main reasons I wanted to see it in the cinema but there was something about him playing this role that I just didn't ...

What goes around comes around..
Advantages: Enigmatic Disadvantages: Perhaps too long
...I wouldn’t say this was in that impact category but certainly a quality piece of film. The drama begins with the return of thirty-something award winning war photographer Paul Harris (Mathew McFadden) to the small rural town of Steimer where he grew up, his first visit for 17 years. The night bag over the shoulder arrival is for dad’s funeral, mum long returned to the Earth, Paul’s relationship with big brother Andrew (Colin May) still not good after ... ...As per normal in these movies Paul has awakened ghosts from his and others past on his return, none more so than a long lost relationship with Penny (Miranda Otto), the reason, we discover later, he skipped town. Deciding to stick around and sort out the family estate, his brother begrudging Paul’s promised third of the Will & Testament, the rest going to an unnamed charity, things take an unexpected turn in his closed world with the arrival of a ...
