"From Hell". Well at least they got the address right.

Advantages: Its a good take on the ripper stories
Disadvantages: ....but the ripper story has been done many times

On the sinister 1888 streets of White Chapel London a killer is on the loose and the case grabs the attention of a opium loving inspector, Inspector Frederick George Abberline(Johnny Depp). The inspector has been known to use his psychic "visions" to help him so when his vison start of the this case then it takes on a personal meaning for him. The ladies of the night are the easy pickings for this villian. One because of their willingness, even if ...
...Chapel streets, to go with any mans company and two because they are easily entised by the simpliest of things like fruit, being poor its not that hard to beleive. One by one the ladies are starting to vanish then turn up brutally carved, with each time Abberline having graphic visions of the gruesome murder. If your a fan of Johnny Depps movies then this film will keep you glued, even if his London accent is a little naff. This is not the most amazing ...

...one! But all the original Psycho movies, starring Anthony Perkins. I always get a bit mad when people call a DVD with more than one disc a box set. Yes it's in a box but hardly a box set! This set has nothing out of the ordinary or exceptional about its inner contents, so to call it a box set is an insult. Right that's my moan out of the way, lets get on with the show. Psycho ----------- Marion Crane has been having an affair with shop worker ...
...shot in black and white Psycho is one of the best known horror movies, and it launched the term "Slasher" when referring to a movie of this type. During the film you are constantly told that it's very hot, 1960 was not a hot year in America. However for the movies Director Alfred Hitchcock (A Brit) it was, all his films prior to Psycho had been filmed in the winter. 1960 actually goes on record as being one of the coolest summers of the 60's in America. ...

Only the readers moan!

Advantages: Pretty decent film
Disadvantages: Poor ending

The Da Vinci Code was a film that I watched at the cinema when it came out, without having read the book. I don't really have enough spare time to read books, I'm not one who can do it on public transport and I tend to prefer films as they manage to squeeze a lot more in a small space of time, therefore the film - adaptation or not, was going to be the only version I came across. I found the Da Vinci Code to be an awesome film, until the last few ...
...and cheesy, it seems that the film had to push it that little bit further beyond belief having told fairly in depth and plausible findings in the earlier parts of the film. Either way, it had that eerie church feel (I always find churches to be scary dark places, the blood splattered Jesus' don't exactly welcome you!) as if you didn't know what was round the next corner, the actors did superb jobs with the adaptable Tom Hanks taking the main role ...

A cryptic Movie

Advantages: Good story, characters
Disadvantages: None

The Da Vinci Code was probably one of the most controversial books of the modern day and so the movie was always going to be eagerly anticipated. The book was written by Dan Brown and was an international bestseller. I've read the book and really really enjoyed it and was excited above the movie. Of course, the subject matter is very controversial and although it is meant to be somewhat fictional I can see elements of truth in it. The film version ...
...follows the story of the book which I like and hasn't strayed too far away from the story which is nice. Tom Hanks stars as Robert Langdon, a professor of Symbology. He is the main character of the movie as it's up to him to solve the riddles and ultimately save himself. I like Tom Hanks in this. There's no doubting that he's a great actor but he definitely brings a fresh approach to this role. When I first heard that he was going to play this part ...
