I recently joined an online DVD club and Mr Brooks was the first film to be sent to me, as I work nights and am a bit of a wimp I decided to watch this film during the day in Bed, the result was I didn't get much sleep, not because it was overly spooky and I was scared to sleep but because it was a truelly gripping film and I did not want to miss a second of it. ...have everyones eyes glued to the screen, you just cant wait to see whats going to happen next. Tom Hanks plays Paul Edgecombe, a security gaurd working a death row. I quite enjoyed the film. I didn't find it scarey, although it was edge of the seat stuff. It was good to see Luke Wilson play a serious role for a change, as I have only ever seen him in comedies (Anchorman, Old School). It made a change to have something different in a film, with the main theme based arounf 'snuff' movies.
