...around under a tunnel by the park. David is killed by the battering of an iron pole and Erica is left in a critical condition in hospital. After learning that her boyfriend is dead Erica changes into someone else, buying a gun and now seeks revenge on anyone who breaks the law. Erica seems disorientated and befriends a cop who is looking for the vigilante. ~ Cast ~ Erica Bain- Jodie Foster David- Naveen Andrews- who plays Siyead in Lost. Detective ...
...Oloja ~ The Darkness of a Killing ~ I brought this film off Love film last week for £5 as I've been meaning to see this but as I found it for this price I decided to buy the DVD. I thought the film was really well done. The filming is done in a Blanc Noir way and it is a very dark and gritty story. I didn't really know what to expect of the film as I didn't read anything about it before I watched it. It was pretty surprising to see Jodie Foster ... Read review

The Timid One
Review of The Brave One DVD by afy9mab

Advantages: The performances are better than the film deserves.
Disadvantages: Formulaic in the extreme, hackneyed writing and direction.

...David. But tragedy strikes when the couple are attacked and savagely beaten by a gang of thugs in Central Park. After three weeks in a coma Erica comes round only to discover David is dead and the killers are still on the loose. She buys a gun illegally for protection and kills a man when she's caught up in a store robbery. Before she knows it, her moral compass has gone awry and she takes to settling issues with brute force. This new vigilante on ...
...the press and Erica must decide if her need for vengeance can override her humanity. For every good Neil Jordan film, there seem to be two or three bad ones and sadly this effort falls into the latter camp. He's a director capable of great subtlety and pathos. But once in a while he turns into the worst kind of hack director, using every cliché in the book. So it is with this film where Erica and David have the most perfect and syrupy relationship ... Psychologically Disturbed - Not Brave.
Review of The Brave One DVD by GoFigure

Advantages: Brilliant acting.
Disadvantages: Very slow...

...David Kirmani, a doctor. The couple are deeply in love, and appear to have a beautiful future ahead of them… until one night, out walking the dog, they are attacked by three men. The attack is so incredibly brutal and savage that David ends up dying from his wounds, and Erica is left unconscious for nearly three weeks. When she finally wakes up, it will be to discover that David is dead and that she missed his funeral. Devastated, she returns home ...
...make sense of the nightmare she has been plunged into. For the first time in her life, Erica feels fear. Where once she used to love the city and walk the streets without any fear whatsoever, she now feels only terror and anguish. Afraid that she'll be attacked again, she manages to purchase an illegal gun and keeps it with her at all times… which is fortunate, because one evening, when she enters her local shop to purchase something to drink, an ... BLU-RAY REVIEW
Review of Vantage Point DVD by Bax88

Advantages: Brilliant plot, excellent picture quality, solid audio, good special features.
Disadvantages: Can become repetitive.

...challenges my intellect, so when Vantage Point arrived on the scene and was supposedly "a slick, explosive thriller that builds to an exciting climax" (according to Heat magazine) I was more than intrigued. The all star cast only added to my interest in the film, with Matthew Fox (Lost), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) and Sigourney Weaver all making an appearance. Did Vantage Point live up to my expectations and prove to be a captivating ...
...had never been attempted before. Vantage Point begins by showing the President getting shot whilst making a speech in Spain, and then replays the event through 8 different people's perspectives; without ever actually showing you what the person really saw. The cliff hanger ending of every characters scene keeps you guessing what happened and will constantly have your theory on the event changing. Each character differs immensely from the next and ... Chimp in control!
Review of The Bank Job DVD by dangaroo

Advantages: Authentic 70s style, fun heist
Disadvantages: Additional story lines for no apparent reason

...films, spying and heists and the like -this film definitely appealed. I thoroughly enjoyed both Snatch and Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrells and was interested to see how the work of Guy Ritchie's side-kick Roger Donaldson worked out. The storyline which involved photos of important people, including a royal family member and an important judge in compromising nuddy positions with sordid sorts was always going to be quite exciting. To remove these ...
...cockneys (3 if you include the lookout) led by the ape like Jason Statham. It sounds like fun already does it not! The heist is realistic and comes alive on the screen, despite Statham's distinct stiffness and chimp like features he pulls the part off well, even if t does feel a bit like one stage up from Phil Mitchell. The manipulating posh bird played bv Saffron Burrows returns from Morocco and is caught with drugs at customs and a friend in British ... Read review
