So thats where the idea came from...

Advantages: Being the first of a sub genre, now much copied
Disadvantages: Bit of a slow starter

...regular caller asking him to play the song of the title,is becoming obsessed with him. After a some character building scenes, Mr. E. condescends to have a "relationship" with the caller thinking of it more as a one night stand, than the long term affair she hopes for. The film does tend to pick up the pace a bit from here, with the begging phone calls,to the threats,to the"ok one more date then" onwards with clints world crumbling around him, ...
...of his lifestyle and turns it into her vision of their perfect life. There are no big shoot outs ,no massive car pile-ups. The tension builds, grips you and keeps you till the finish. All in all this is a beautifly crafted and very well acted movie, and at the time of its release it was ground breaker. Review of Play Misty For Me (DVD)

Action-packed with some witty dialogue but still flawed somehow

Advantages: Quite thrilling when it gathers pace, seemed an authentic depiction of London, some humour
Disadvantages: Something about Downey Jnrs depiction of Holmes didnt work somehow, not for all ages/the squeamish

About as fun as being stuck in the Channel Tunel
