"Heat", an Edgy, Cat and Mouse, Action Thriller
Advantages: Excellent Cast, Looks Great, Excellent Characters and Action,
Disadvantages: Slightly unexciting in places
This Action/Thriller is directed by Michael Mann and has all his trademark atmospheric qualities. There isnt much in the way of major twists or surprises and it seem to think that by putting Pacino and De-Niro in the same film and giving every element of the production a fantastic style and realism, that this will be enough.....it is. Pacino plays an LAPD Detective "Vincent Hanna" trying to hunt down "Neil Mcauley" (De-Niro) and his criminal gang ...

15 MINUTES THE DVD AND FILM REVIEWED
Advantages: Good acting, good effects, interesting storyline
Disadvantages: Slow storyline, a little lacking in the storyline in places

I was attracted to 15 minutes because of the presence of Robert De Niro, he has starred in some of the best films ever made and there were high expectations for his appearance in 15 minutes.
15 Minutes is not your typical action film – it is not merely made up of tough-talking cops, rapid gunfire and big explosions. Unlike many action films it is totally unpredictable and with a twist in the tale you will be kept guessing ...

Two Acting Greats turn up the 'Heat'
Advantages: De Niro and Pacino together
Disadvantages: would have liked more focus on the main characters
...in mind I do think Heat is one of the best action crime dramas I have ever scene. I am never bored watching it, and have completely lost count how many times I have indeed watched it. I may have wanted more focus on the main characters, but Michael Mann's directing never the less was superb in this, making an audience glued for three hours is not an easy task, which in my views Mann successfully did with this film. Although Braveheart was the movie ...

Advantages: Intriguing at first
Disadvantages: Plot becomes silly, unconvincing
...that did it rather well. Godsend just doesn't do it as well. The idea that a dead child could be reborn is tempting, but it isn't explained well in the film and I found myself with all sorts of questions that weren't answered - the fact that it is highly unethical and illegal for a start. That may not have been important had the film been better, but as it is, I found the questions nagging at me and taking away from the story. And the ending really ...

Enjoyable, Intriguing Thriller
Advantages: Dakota Fanning's performance
Disadvantages: Not as scary or fast paced as I'd have liked
Hide and Seek follows David and Emily Callaway (Robert De Niro and Dakota Fanning) as a father and daughter struggling to come to terms with the sudden gruesome suicide of Alison, David's wife and Emily's mother.
De Niro gives an even and understated performance as a psychologist who decides to move to a secluded house in the middle of the woods in an attempt to help Emily recover from her deep emotional scars. However, things go downhill when Emily ...

Hide and seek may take a while to build momentum compared to your average thriller, but I found it an intriguing and chilling film with an inspired plot twist and a tense climax.
