Exorcise Out The Court Part
Review of The Exorcism Of Emily Rose DVD by
Necormancer
Advantages: Thrilling, A Touching Story, Chilling
Disadvantages: Too Much Court Parts, And Not Enough Horror.
...daughter has become possessed of the devil, and the Catholic Church agrees to authorize an exorcism of the young woman. As Father Moore (Tom Wilkinson) attempts to drive the demons from Emily's body, the girl dies in the midst of the taxing ceremonies, and Father Moore finds himself charged with negligent homicide. Attorney Erin Brunner (Laura Linney) is hired to represent Father Moore against prosecutor Ethan Thomas (Campbell Scott), who intends ... ...a heated courtroom debate between the notions of faith and science. The Exorcism of Emily Rose was inspired by the real-life story of Annaliese Michel, a young woman from Germany who died in 1976 after priests in Wurzburg spent eight months attempting to exorcise demons from her body
Right, Now for my review.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a film about a posession of a girl (Duh). It's a court movie about a man called Father Richard Moore. He's ...

Order of the Day: Human Flesh
Review of Silence Of The Lambs (Special Edition) by
RazzaLazza
Advantages: Anthony Hopkins is exceptional in his performance a truly thrilling film.
Disadvantages: Is not in my opinion as explosive and intense as the 2001 follow up 'Hannibal'.
'The Silence of the Lambs', the film that brought Thomas Harris serial killer series success on the big screen. Directed by Jonathan Demme this film emerged in 1991, three years after the novel of the same name was brought out. 'Red Dragon' was actually the first novel in the series written by Thomas Harris, it was also the first film to be released and emerged in 1986 under the name of 'Manhunter' directed by Michael Mann. The film was a box office ... ...first time I saw 'The Silence of the Lambs' I must say that I was incredibly impressed, and every time I have seen it since it has done nothing but impress me more. Every element of the film just seems to come together perfectly, the acting is spot on, the direction brilliant, and best of all; there was an excellent basic storyline already there in the form of the Thomas Harris novel 'The Silence of the Lambs'. Novel adaptations do not always come ...

I'm Mad For This Film
Review of The Manchurian Candidate DVD by
lilmsnaughty1979
Advantages: Fine Story and Acting
Disadvantages: A Bit Far Fetched
...Shaw, single handedly takes on the enemy and saves most of them. Shaw's father was a failed politician.
Shaw is a candidate for Vice President and has been helped a lot by the Medal of Honour that he received for his courage in the war. He is being pushed very hard by his mother (Meryl Streep) who is very ruthless. He often resents her interference in his life and seems to have more morals.
Things get complicated when it turns out the surviving ... ...Jonathan Demme (of Silence of the Lambs fame) and Screenplay Co-Writer Daniel Pyne.
There is also a featurette that features Tina Sinatra (yes Frank's daughter, she is one of the producers), Jonathan Demme, Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep amongst others. It compares some scenes from the original movie. They even suggest that link between large corporations and politicians today. It is quite interesting. It runs for 14 minutes.
The last special ...

Nothing is what it seems
Review of The Recruit DVD by
frkurt
Advantages: Good plot potential
Disadvantages: Clunky plot development, so-so acting
...this film is that with the CIA, nothing is what it seems. Unfortunately, that is not always true. If this film seems to drag a bit at times, that is what it seems. If it seems a bit repetitive and lacking in originality in dialogue and plot situations, that is what it seems. If it seems that the star power of Al Pacino and Colin Farrell aren't enough to raise this film from B-film levels, that is what it seems. Farrell is supposed to be a techno-geek. ... ...of disbelief is required from the outset (one can make the same criticism of Keanu Reeves in the Matrix films, but those were much better films). Farrell as James Clayton is a programmer geek by day, sexy bartender by night (that part is convincing). Clayton is the sort of person that Walter Burke (played by Pacino) seems to want in the CIA, so he sets out to recruit him. Clayton has a secret buried in his past - his father disappeared, and he always ...
