Only the readers moan!

Advantages: Pretty decent film
Disadvantages: Poor ending

The Da Vinci Code was a film that I watched at the cinema when it came out, without having read the book. I don't really have enough spare time to read books, I'm not one who can do it on public transport and I tend to prefer films as they manage to squeeze a lot more in a small space of time, therefore the film - adaptation or not, was going to be the only version I came across. Glorious, beautiful and well performed fun

Advantages: Performances are great and it is good fun
Disadvantages: Maybe a little light for true Hitchcock fans

Review of To Catch A Thief (DVD)

The softer side of Hitchcock

Advantages: A charming and witty soft fifties thriller - pleasing to the eye.
Disadvantages: More cool than chilling - it's not nail biting stuff.

This is one of Hitchcocks later films and with it, he seems to have lost much of what it was that made us love him so much - Psyco, the Birds, Dial M for Murder this is not.
