Only the readers moan!

Advantages: Pretty decent film
Disadvantages: Poor ending

The Da Vinci Code was a film that I watched at the cinema when it came out, without having read the book. I don't really have enough spare time to read books, I'm not one who can do it on public transport and I tend to prefer films as they manage to squeeze a lot more in a small space of time, therefore the film - adaptation or not, was going to be the only version I came across. A Cracking Good Film

Advantages: Great acting, good story
Disadvantages: Horribly to watch in places

The Da Vinci Code - better than expected!

Advantages: Interesting concepts and ideas, very good soundtrack
Disadvantages: Very long, plot can sometimes be slow-moving

...lot of bad reviews for the Da Vinci Code, but I have to say that I enjoyed it thoroughly. I had the advantage of not reading the book before watching the film - some of my friends said this hinders rather than helps. The plot is very enjoyable I think, and the theories behind the story, however controversial, do make for an entertaining plot, nothing more than that. Action-packed with some witty dialogue but still flawed somehow

Advantages: Quite thrilling when it gathers pace, seemed an authentic depiction of London, some humour
Disadvantages: Something about Downey Jnrs depiction of Holmes didnt work somehow, not for all ages/the squeamish
