keyboards, percussion).Additional personnel: Michael Riesman (various instruments); Victor Lesser (saxophone); Paul Ossola (bass); Vince Cherico (drums, programming, percussion, background vocals); Lucy Roche, Jeannine Schmeltzkopf, Dara Schlatt, Lucy Lesser, Kelsey Lesser, Jeffrey Lesser, David Roche (background vocals).Recorded at RPM Studios, New York City. This sterling set of two-dozen Christmas songs grew out a tradition that the Roches had of performing Christmas music annually in the group's native New York City. The sisters set aside their endearing quirkiness to sing these songs with reverence, but at the same manage to bring their novel arrangement style into play. The Roches' harmonies drift in and out of these compositions with beauty and glee. Spare accompaniment is given to the singing, with a keyboard here, a guitar there, and other little flourishes. A handful of numbers are presented acapella, something that Roches fans have enjoyed since the trio's debut. WE THREE KNGS is a timeless classic.[Reviews]Q (1/91) - 3 Stars - Good - ...Every Christmas The Roches take to the streets of New York as part of a charity carolling group and this album is a celebration of that spirit as much as the event itself.n

Advantages: Good action and extras Disadvantages: Poor humour
...One of these films was Three Kings. Viewing the trailers made me think it was all action and a very weak plot. To be honest, it was not very different from my initial impressions, but I did find it more entertaining than I expected.

It is during this process of disarmament that Sergeant Troy Barlow, Chief Elgin and Private Conrad Vig make an interesting discovery. Hidden on an Iraqi soldier (I wont say wear it was hidden!) they find a map disclosing the location of some of Saddam Hussains’ Hidden Bunkers. This is of great interest to them, not for military purposes ...

Advantages: Great action, inspired film Disadvantages: A bit too graphic
...much, much more.
For Three Kings is quite splendid, a veritable epic of action and adventure, and despite all the death, doom and destruction and pix of bile running rampant through the gut, it’s still one of the best 90 minutes' worth of fun you are likely to have in many a long year.
Good old cuties George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg head the cast in one of the funniest, most action packed, strictly enjoyable pieces of entertainment you are ever ... ...a bit of a clue about the plot….)
WAR, WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! SAY IT AGAIN….
PS Not sure why it’s three kings, cos there are four of them. Just a thought … perhaps it should be retitled ‘Four King Hell’ ….. ...

The Iraqui Job Review ofThree Kings (Wide Screen)by
EnglishPatient
Advantages: Inventively-directed, stylish Gulf war movie that avoids the usual cliches Disadvantages: Morally ambiguous at times, and occasionally quite violent
...that question, but in truth Three Kings is more than a War Movie : its potent mix of visceral action, sharp dialogue and heavy doses of reality-tinged poignancy tackles a touchy-feely subject with explosive style. Three Kings' narrative could just as easily have been transposed to the heist caper genre, though in this context it becomes a far more original conceit. To all intents and purposes, the film is The Iraqui Job - a gang of renegade army ... ...and the high-octane pace of Three Kings hardly lets up for its two hours running time.
Unflinching in its graphic portrayal of combat and its effects, the film breaks new ground during the pivotal exchanges of gunfire. Sounds are muted and distorted, visual perspectives are altered and skewed, while the actual points of impact are simultaneously played out in chilling slow-motion. It happens to be U.S. soldiers against their Iraqui counterparts, ...

...DVD drive for my computer. Three Kings was the first DVD I decide to try out on it, for some simple reasons, firstly the price, secondly it was known to be a good film, and lastly it was supposed to have some good scenes that would be a test for my PC. On the first part, the price, I picked up this DVD for £9.99 at my local Virgin Meagstore in Exeter, they were doing some deal with chart DVDs. Cant go wrong with that price, especially if the DVD ... ...details, it was produced by Warner Bros., directed by David O’Russel, who I think did a great job. Running time approximately 111 mins, my version at least was made in 2.35.1 ratio and was widescreen. Sorry I do not know how much this varies across the board, this was my first DVD, so I am not expert. The DVD is split up into 31 chapters, between 2-5 minutes in length for easy surfing and picking up where you left off. The soundtrack is great, ...

WE THREE KINGS Review ofThree Kings (Wide Screen)by
brianlfc
Advantages: Some good acting, a very good storyline, a very decent movie Disadvantages: none
Its pretty difficult to explain this movie, as it was not your normal action shoot-em-up type of film, that usual war films depict, sure it has action, but it also has a few laughs and also some quite sad parts, it also has a great storyline and a great feel of realism to it. It is also filmed in some sort of special lighting; this I suspect is to give you a real feel of the desert.
What is the film about?
Well, in the days after the Gulf war ended, ... ...during the usual stripping and questioning of the captured soldiers, a map was found, in a very concealed place, well actually, it was stuck up his backside. The map showed what looked like enemy bunkers, which reputedly housed millions of gold bullion (amongst other things), that the Iraqi’s had stolen out of Kuwait, well anyway four soldiers, Archie Gates (George Clooney), Troy Barlow (Mark Walberg), Chief Elgin (Ice Cube) and Conrad Vig ...

DVD Description
David O. Russell makes his entry into the major studio big leagues with this electric war dramedy. The charged script, based on a fictional story by John Ridley, is a sly reworking of KELLY'S HEROES that concerns four Gulf War soldiers who discover a map that potentially leads to an enormous stash of gold bullion. Russell gives his actors a chance to shine with roles that step outside of the usual cinematic cliches and enable them to create humanistic, believable characters, resulting in one of 1999's most exciting, original and underrated motion pictures.
