Advantages: Quite good extras Disadvantages: All in one long episode
of those really bad programmes like Teletubbies, though, they do all speak well and through this it does help the child learn new words. There are some unusual words though this ism minimal.
LANGUAGE
As mentioned above, the language in the Fimbles is of good quality to help your child learn new words, though the youngest Fimble does speak more baby talk. The language is easy and simple for children of all ages without being patronizing.
QUALITY
The quality of the DVD as a whole is really good, with great colours and filming with easy to understand interactive menus. It is just the same quality as watching an episode on the television.
PRICE
We picked this DVD up for £2.00 so really for that price it is a good deal.
FINAL WORD
From the childs point of view ? this DVD is really good though not great as once watched it gets a little ...
Advantages: great actors, good story, good effects Disadvantages: None come to mind
.
The film was mainly based on the Island of Navarone and I did think that the sets and scenery were excellent and we did get some wonderful views of the mountains and islands surrounding it. I did find that when the men were travelling to Navarone they visited some lovely places and they all looked very authentic and realistic. The effects which were used were very good and looked very real. I did not noticeable see any bad effects of dodgy added backdrops which made for better viewing in my opinion.
The music throughout the film was good but nothing spectacular or memorable. It was all good for the places which it was used and helped with the scene setting.
The DVD which we have does have some bonus material which includes:-
Directors Commentary
Featurettes
- A message from Carl Foreman
- Great Guns
- Honeymoon on Rhodes
- No ...
Advantages: entertaining, great length, good features, appealing natural comedy Disadvantages: sorry, if you're under 12, its a no-go!
makes fun of ten of his favourite Freaky Eaters from the show, including his obsession over Hoops, and those who eat nothing but chocolate! He mocks them as if he were a little kid, which can be humerous, though I am not at all pleased that he is making fun of Eating Disorders. This did not end the DVD in a light mood, so I decided to watch part of the actual show again, which worked to make me laugh!
With the DVD over, I decided to compare it to the show. It is amazing to be able to sit and watch an hour and a half of Hill in one go, compared to the usual just half an hour. I also liked how I could relate to some of the clips, as I had seem them on the TV series. I do love the TV series, and now I can watch it as and when!
This DVD was released in 2008, though the clips date right back to mocking shows from the very beginning of TV ...

DVD Description
Based on the novel by Paul Annixter, THOSE CALLOWAYS tells the story of Cam Calloway (Brian Keith), a New England preservationist and fur trapper. Along with his son, Cam dreams of buying a nearby lake to turn into a refuge for migrating geese. He finds, however, that making the dream come true requires much more money than he has, and even greater ingenuity in getting around the real estate developers. The situation turns violent when Cam and son move into a cabin on the property, and an attempt is made on his life. Can Cam stop the development of this pristine area and carry out his lifelong wish to help the environment?
