Bob The Builder seems to have gone a bit quiet of late. Still a hugely popular character with the younger kids, I suppose this is probably a lot to do with the fact that my son is now 5, and has sort of migrated towards Ben 10, choosing this over things such as Bob.
However, on ourDVD shelf we still have thisDVD, and occasionally he'll pick it off the shelf and put it in to watch. We sometimes have to help him navigate through the menus of DVDs, but he wanted to watch this the other day, and off he went.
I saw this when we first got it a couple of years ago, and was impressed by the imaginative changes to the Bob the Builder norm I had been used to. It seems too me they should be collecting their teddy bare pensions by now but they must have some healthy lifestyle because the care bears are going strong. Good storys that have their own little way of teaching our children the correct way to act towards other peoples feelings can only be a good thing right! I first watched Richard Pryor's movies as a child with my Dad and couldn't wait to buy this.
My fave film is See No Evil, Hear No Evil, with his comedy partner Gene Wilder. For me its a film that's laugh out loud crazy and always cheers me up. The other films are - Stir Crazy, Brewster's Millions and Carwash. Carwash is a lesser known films and I am still undecided on this one.
There's no fancy extras but it doesn't detract from the quality.
I thought it was excellent value for money.
I'd recommend this to any of his fans, as it great to see something other then his stand-up, which isn't to everyones liking. I'd also recommend comedy fans by this as he was a great actor and the partnership with Gene Wilder was one of the best. ...

This mob picture comes with a high pedigree: director, co-writer and star Danny Provenzano (VAMPIRE VIXENS FROM VENUS) is a bit of a mobster in real life; he's pleaded guilty to racketeering, and his great uncle is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa. In his directorial debut, Provenzano brings gritty authority to his tale of mobsters using computers for the ultimate heist. Looking to 'earn his nut' with the organization, Nick (Provenzano) and two buddies orchestrate a complex way of skimming money off the top of global online bank transfers via the internet. Unfortunately, they need to raise $50,000 to get it off the ground, and so they turn to the old-school mafia guys for the cash, in the process dragging them kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Naturally, once the billions start piling up, betrayal, greed, and a lot of blood and gunfire follow. The film benefits from a nicely mixed cast of fresh-picked, off-the-mean-streets newcomers and familiar mob movie faces like James Caan (GODFATHER), Vincent Pastore (SOPRANOS), Frank Vincent (GOODFELLAS), and comedian Pat Cooper (ANALYZE THIS). The tough-talk dialogue is diverting, with nice use of Tarantino-esque pop culture references. Provenzano infuses the film with a perfectly seedy ambience.
