Production Year: 1971 - Westerns - Director: Richard Benedict, Douglas Heyes, Leslie Martinson - Original Language: English - Classification: Parental Guidance - Starring: Ben Murphy, Pete Duel
Advantages: Genuinely scary. Disadvantages: I was left wanting to know more.
Alien and how all these people are being killed, but you never get to see what is doing it until right at the end? Well this film treats its monsters in a similar way. You see them all the way through the film, but you never see enough to allow you to categories them and therefore make them less scary.
I have to say that 'They ' were definitely very scary.
The story itself was not bad, but it left me with a lot of questions that I didn't feel had been answered. Whether that was the intention of the directors I am not sure. I feel that maybe this was meant to add to the fear factor of the film, but personally I would have liked to have known more about ' the terror' and how it cameto be where it was and as it was.
This film did make me remember my childhood days when I hid under my blankets, afraid of the dark and the shadows ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of They (DVD)
Advantages: funny in some places Disadvantages: no chemistry, weak story
First of all, I must point out that this is a film-only review. I do not own this film on DVD, but have seen it on TV a couple of times now.
~The Story~
The movie begins with Reuben Feffer (Ben Stiller) getting married to his girlfriend of four years, Lisa (Debra Messing). They head off on honeymoon to the island of St. Barts, and while there, they meet Claude (Hank Azaria), a French scuba diving instructor, who has a penchant for walking around in very few clothes. On the first day, Lisa has a scuba diving lesson with Claude, and Reuben goes to Claude's boat to surprise Lisa with a bottle of Champagne. He is shocked to find them in bed together - still wearing their flippers!
Heartbroken, Reuben goes back to New York alone. His friend Sandy (Philip Seymour Hoffman), an actor who has had only one role in his life, yet has ...
genre - the Tommy and Tuppence books are very like this - but I do feel that these are not Christie's best and that she writes best of all when describing murder involving the upper class in small villages with a restricted number of suspects. I also felt that the plot was rather contrived and not terribly realistic. Still, Christie's sense of suspense is excellent and compared to other authors, this is still a cracker and worth reading.
The edition that I read came out in 2003. Agatha Christie books are available from any High Street book retailers for £6.99 each; however, this particular book is quite difficult to find, not being one of her most famous. It is, of course, available from Amazon, price £5.59, 320 pages. Published by Harper Collins. ...

In 1916, as U.S. soldiers waged war against Pancho Villa's Mexican troops, Army Major Thomas Thorn (Gary Cooper) is assigned to lead five soldiers and a traitorous female prisoner (Rita Hayworth) to safety in the Texas town of Cordura. This seemingly simple task becomes increasingly complex , however, as the incessant squabbling between Thorn, whose record is marred by a past indiscretion, and the five men (all potential Congressional Medal of Honor winners) threatens to destroy them all.
