No-holds-barred comedy tour de force in which 30-something Stiller locates and courts his high school dreamgirl (Diaz), unwittingly enlisting the help of some of her more...

This film is rated 15, which is appropriate for this film, as there is partial nudity, scenes of a sexual nature and strong language.

The Plot
=======

Ted (Ben Stiller) has been obsessed with Mary (Cameron Diaz) since High School, when they were meant to go to the prom together but an unfortunate incident in Mary's bathroom changes that.

After 13 years Ted tracks Mary down through the help of his friend Dom and a private investigator Pat Healy (Matt Dillon), who decides that Mary is too good for stalker Ted and he'll have her himself.

Both Ted and Pat find that there are other men after Mary and we lead into hilarious laughs and some very funny scenes with Puffy the dog.

There is also Mary's Brother, Warren that Ted keeps upsetting. Mary's next-door neighbour, Magda who is obsessed with tanning and neighbourhood watch.

There's something about Mary but who will win her in the end?

New Extended Version with Never Before Seen Restored Footage of the film -there is quite a number of extra bits to the scene but nothing would have made the original any better.

There are over 6 hours of extras on these 2 discs. So I shall bore you by going into too much detail.

Characters
=========

Cameron Diaz gives an excellent performance as Mary, as she is oblivious to what is happening around her. Ben Stiller plays Ted the nerdy guy who is crazy about Mary but has problems letting her know how he feels. Matt Dillon is perfect for the sleazy Pat Healy who is only after Mary for one thing.

Earl gives a very believable performance as Warren who is mentally impaired; on the extras there is an interview with Earl and how he played the character.

All the characters are well performed and your fall into their world that there fascination with Mary is real.

Mary - Cameron Diaz
Healy - Matt Dillon
Ted - Ben Stiller
Tucker - Lee Evans
Dom - Chris Elliott
Warren - W Earl Brown

Overview
========

This is a great film that you really get engrossed into, the comedy is in every scene and the fight scene with Puffy and Ted is excellent. They have managed to take something that is totally wrong and make it funny, even though you can see that the dog they use in this scene is not real, you still feel sorry for him.

I went to see this film when it was at the cinema and I and the rest of the audience died with laughter. Even my partner, who says that this is a chick flick, still can't help but watch the scenes with Puffy the dog.

In my opinion I think they have gone a bit overboard on the extras for this DVD, as some of it is repetitive and boring. However I love this film and that's the reason why I bought this DVD. It cost me around £20 when it was first released but the price had probably come down now, like everything does.

The soundtrack in this film is great; it carries you along with the film. All the songs are quite up-tempo which keeps in good balance with the films' comedy.

If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it, as it will have your sides splitting with laughter for 114 minutes.

Thanks for reading.
