I know everyone raved about this film, and that it won awards, but i really cant see what the attraction was. I dont know any of the actors in the film, but the story line was tame, the acting was good, but nothing really testing for them.
The story seemed to be - a man extracts oil and gets really rich, his son, who isnt his son has an accident and becomes deaf, and then he disowns him, and then he becomes miserable because all he wants is to succeed and then when he has, he has nothing to do.
There were no twists, nothing interesting happened. It was a beleivable film, but i dont understand how it got made. I really don't understand how this got so much praise at all.
I would advise you to not only not buy it, but not watch it, i think its a waste of time. However, i think because it got so much praise, you have to watch it, so you can have an opinion on the film. BUT DONT BUY IT.
I prefer films that i come out of and i think about them, talk about them and that they change my mood, i felt no different after watching this film, apart from being annoyed that everyone had found it to be a good film and i didnt.
I wouldnt say it was a bad film, but i think it was just mediocre, there was nothing about it for it to change my emotions, and therefore for me it is not a good film.
