One of the all time great action movies, a personal favourite, this movie has all you'd ever want from a film, and a whole lot more! High drama, excellent storyline, and a good old car chase make this film top any list. Director Ridley Scott certainly knew what he was doing!
The Storyline The storyline of this film is all too believable. Two women (Susan Sarandon and Geena Davies) out to have a good time get themselves into a whole heap of trouble, and with every hope of coming through safe on the other side fading fast, they resort to desperate measures. Finding themselves on the wrong side of the law and no turning back Thelma and Louise supply this movie with unending drama, emotion and action.

While on the run from the police they get mixed up in all sorts of trouble, they meet a young cowboy along the way ( a very young looking Brad Pitt) who Thelma has a one night stand with causing them even more problems.

Advantages: Funny remarks made by the duo, emmotive, great soundtrack. Disadvantages: Not enough humour really.
...loved this movie.
When Thelma and Louise pack up and leave town for what started out as a planned fishing trip, they ditch their boyfriends that they're both sick of and head off on the road. Little do they know that round the corner after a good time at the Silver Bullet tragedy strikes and their lives are changed forever...
I found the plot of this movie outstanding, as even though their friendship was tested in all manner of ways, they still ... ...the audience dumbstruck and in tears - or it did to me anyway!
The injections of humour in this movie interspersed with the phenominal soundtrack really give the film an edge which is incompariable with any other film on the shelves.
I would high recommend this film to anyone as it is very inspiring and sends out a firm message. ...

Advantages: Great characters, great cinematography and dialogue Disadvantages: Male characters are all nasty?
a classic and I think it deserves its reputation. Whether you're into feminism or not, it's a film everyone should see purely from an entertainment point of view. At heart it's just a road movie with two very funny and likeable main characters. If I had one complaint, it's that it does glorify breaking the law, but hey, what films don't these days? One of Ridley Scott's best films, and one of the best films of the 90s.

Advantages: Great lead actresses, funny & a brilliant story Disadvantages: None whatsoever
as this is a definite must-see. If you?re only going to buy this film for one reason then buy it simply to watch the two brilliant scenes with Thelma, the robbery & with the policeman. They?re both serious scenes but she makes them hilarious at the same time. You simply must watch this film all the way through as the ending is absolutely fantastic & something that I wasn?t expecting on first watching this. It made me think about it afterwards & I wanted to see more!

DVD Description
Fed up with her boyfriend (Michael Madsen), live-wire Arkansas waitress Louise Sawyer (Susan Sarandon) persuades her friend Thelma Dickinson (Geena Davis), a naive housewife burdened with a negligent, sexist husband (Christopher McDonald), to hit the road with her for a weekend of freedom. One of their first stops is a bar where the women relax, dance, and flirt with some of the locals. But the situation turns ugly when one man (Timothy Carhart) follows Thelma to the parking lot and attempts to rape her, causing Louise to shoot and accidentally kill him. Convinced that the police will never believe their version of the incident, the women take off, now fugitives from the law. Emboldened by recent events, Thelma picks up studly young cowboy J.D. (Brad Pitt) in Oklahoma and enjoys a one-night stand that leads to even more trouble. Director Ridley Scott's infamous feminist road movie ranks among the best films of the 1990s. Along with BLADE RUNNER and ALIEN, the film is one of Scott's finest works, largely because of Callie Khourie's vivid, brilliantly idiosyncratic script, wonderful performances from the two leads, and Adrian's Biddle's crisp photography of the American Southwest.
