Sheepdogis an examination of a living, working farm. Followed by cameras over the course of 12 months, shepherd David Kennard and narrator Christopher Timothy take the viewer through the seasons on Kennard's North Devon farm, accompanied at all times by his faithful set of Border Collie sheepdogs. With the Atlantic coastline forming a spectacular backdrop, the shepherd and his dogs demonstrate the incredible relationship between man and animal, a relationship rarely matched for sheer instinct and communication. With its low budget production and Timothy's enthusiastic narration,The Year of the Working Sheepdogis ever so slightly reminiscent of an old-style education film, but nonetheless paints a charming picture of a longstanding way of life. There is little evidence of the increasing mechanisation of the industry and the crises that would affect many farms, Kennard's included, but this is certainly recommended to those with an interest in the countryside and its unique ways. --Phil Udell

Henry returns to his family's sheep farm years after the death of his father and favourite sheep, both of which were behind his reasons for leaving. His hated brother, Angus, is now in charge and seems to be doing very well. All Henry wants is to take his share of the money and run, having been left with a phobia of sheep following the death of his beloved (sheep), but circumstances keep getting in the way. On the way out to the fields with Tucker, the farm manager, they both get threatened at gun point by a girl called Experience. Then they discover that the sheep are acting strangely - so strangely that they appear to want to kill humans, or at least infect them so that they turn into sheep. What exactly has Angus been doing while Henry was away?! And will any of them escape alive?

With the purchase of a portable DVD player for Holly, we needed some DVD's to play in the said DVD. So we took a family trip to our local Tesco, me to get some food shopping and Darren to get some DVD's for Holly. I was most pleased to see the Shaun the Sheep - Saturday Night Shaun DVD make its way into the trolley. I'm not sure if my husband bought this DVD for Holly or for Mummy but either way I am really pleased with it.
We had never really watched Shaun the Sheep until we were on holiday in Turkey earlier this year and Holly was poorly one day so we had to spend the day in the room thus watching Turkish kids television. One of the programmes that was on was Shaun the Sheep and I sat on the bed just laughing my head off. Having helped a local farmer look after his sheep when he used to go on holiday I have seen first hand ...

Henry Oldfield returns to the family's sprawling sheep farm in New Zealand-prepared to sell his portion of the farmstead to his brother. Traumatised by a joke-gone-wrong that his older brother played on him when he was younger, Henry has spent most of his life in therapy in an attempt to overcome his fear of sheep.
Unbeknownst to Henry, his brother has taken animal husbandry one step further, and with a bit of genetic tweaking he's turned the farmstead into a grazing ground for some very strange sheep - which only ...
