There are 24 episodes in this season, and it really begins to introduce the mythology which will underpin the whole show. In particular, the encrypted tape which explains just how much the government know about aliens.
This is one of the seasons where we do get to see some physical evidence of aliens, and as such it’s a brave move; no longer is it all a hypothesis, this one confirms the little green men really do live.
This show really taps into our love of conspiracy, and the hope that we are not alone. It’s exciting and deep as the storylines grow more and more complex. Again, the acting is solid, and it’s nice to see Anderson making more of a role for herself than in season two. The storylines are a good mix of spiritual horror and crazy cockroach madness, which keeps it fresh and interesting.
All in all an excellent season, and one that raises the bar in what is to come next.
